My "blacks" have a green tint in them...

I have a Samsung hl-r6168w dlp hdtv that i purchased in Oct.2005. My blacks just don't look good, (for about a year now). Called Samsung recently, and the "tech support" kid, after looking it up, explained that this model does not have any black level adjusted. Any advice?

Reset all video setting to factory setting,should back to tv set.Same prob.ur video board have prob.must change.

Hi,

It sound likes the problem of your unit is the light engine. This is very common problem on Samsung DLP TV's and tons of complaint regarding on the picture quality. If you search "Samsung DLP law suit" you will find various comment regarding on the issue.

This part is an expensive one and I would advice you to call Samsung service department (1-800-726-7864) to let it diagnose by their Technician and see if they would cover the parts.

Uh Oh! Your light engine is warping a little from overheating and is distorting the picture. It usually means replacing the light engine.

My suggestion to you is to get on the phone with Samsung and start complaining, then keep complaining until they agree to pay for it. You may have to get the problem diagnosed by a pro before they agree to pay for it though.

I have a Samsung DLP HLN 5065W and recently the TV started to get Horizontal Lines in it with a 2 inch black horizontal line across the TV and the bottom half you could see the picture and the top half...

If your TV looks 3D, warped, or distorted it likely has a convergenge problem.
If however it just looks dull, washed out, redish, greenish, or blueish or if it looks like objects on the screen have halos the fluid in the lens has soured.
You can search google for parts or you can get the parts with repair instructions from sites such as www.TvRepairKits.com
