If your new ( used) Z22 has a name "missy", then it is NOT A "BLANK", as you state! You need to do a complete "factory Reset" After the COMPLETE factory reset, you then start the Z22 and name it Absolutely identical to your computer's Z22 name, and then try again to connect. As the Palm Z22 ages, there are issues with old and dying batteries, with the touch screen deforming and becoming useless, and various DATA connectivity issues, since the new Windows 64 BIT Operating Systems did not yet exist when the Z22 was diss-continued.

On my web page are links and USER information on the various solutions that they found, as well as a bit of information that I discovered, which is hitherto unknown!

Z22 PALM PILOT

The SYNC CABLE for the Palm Z22 is just the everyday, ordinary, USB "MIMI" cable that all USB devices like cell phones, MP3 players, etc. used for years. These used to be plentiful in 'dollar' stores, but have been replaced with the "MICRO" plug which is much thinner, so you may have to look around. I find piles of them in "Value" "Thrift" type stores now, since they are falling out of popularity, but they are everywhere if you take the time to look - and, since they are getting obsolete, they are really cheap... You can go online and look for " MINI USB CABLE" on Amazon, eBay, etc. where they are readily available...

Z22 PALM PILOT

You can always UN-install the software, and re-install the software that you do use. I have some links on software, and user comments on how to re-arrange things to get data to sync. Since I do not SYNC myself, I can only repeat what others are saying, but, chances are you can use the information to help.

Perform a hard reset and it will ask if you want to retain all info

The data on your old Z22 is very likely very secure, and the touch screen problem is very common - there are a few tricks to get the touch screen working long enough to transfer the data.

You can try these tricks, or just replace the screen for $9 U.S., since the screen only needs you take the unit apart and flip open a connector lock ...

I would strongly advise getting a solid plastic cover over your new Z22, since this is the key to keeping the screen working...

you can still change the person you accepted by emailing [email protected] and telling the guys over there that you accepted a wrong solution.

If you accepted the correct solution then you can icnore this.

1. Go to Applications (info).
2. Open the Menus (info).
3. From the App menu choose Delete.
4. Tap the name of the application you would like to delete.
5. Tap on the Delete button. Tap on the Yes button to confirm that you wish to delete the chosen application.

Delete programs from your Z22 by using your Z22 and not your computer

yes it is. if you have the installations cd for you zire handheld and the installation cd for your palm z22 handheld and have already installed them on one computer then you can just go up to the file tab on the top, click on it, and got to export, then choose what you want to go on to the new handheld and just click export the palm z22.

Hit the menu button on the left, below the home button, and select the "Delete..." option. From there you can choose programs to delete. Just tried it on my wifes new z22 and it works.
