Question about Mitsubishi WD-73733 73" HDTV
I put a new lamp in 3 weeks ago, new bulb lasted a week the tv would not go on and the lights were blinking saying the bulb was bad. Thinking the lamp was bad I sent it back for a new one.'just installed it and now I still have nothing. Must be something inside??
Its most likely the ballast which is causing the issue. The ballast is what provides the power source to light the lamp. You can get the ballast at www.tvrepairworld.com and they can provide instructions on how to replace the ballast

Having the same problem with the dim picture on my WD-52525. Had the lamp replaced and still had a dim picture. My authorized dealer has been in contact with Mitsubishi Tech Support and they are thinking it's the optical engine (light engine).
If you think the replacement lamps are expensive, wait till you see the price of the optical engine. My dealer told me they run around $750.00! If this is the problem, I'm hoping they will cover it under warranty as the TV is less than 2 years old.

Here's something that might also be useful. After you turn on the set, and get the regular red blinky lights, hold down the Device and Menu buttons together for about 5 seconds.
The Power light will start to flash in a two digit sequence.
For example, 3 flashes, then 7 flashes = 37.
Here are the error codes, and the corresponding problem:
12 = No error detected, check power supply.
32 = Lamp Cover is open.
33 = Air filter cover is open.
34 = Lamp abnormality
36 = Light Engine (DMD or Lamp Fan stopped)
37 = Exhaust or Lamp Ballast Fan stopped
38 = Lamp Temperature High
39 = DMD Temperature High
41 = Short is detected
44 = DVI cable between FMT and Engine disconnected

There is a tiny reset button to the left of the timer light. Press with a pin or something small, wait 60 seconds. Viola!

SOURCE: Timer light blinks constantly
Is it Mitsubishi WD-52628 TV? please confirm model number.
Unplug TV from AC outlet for couple of minutes, replug back in, turn power ON and check, still same problem?
Lets read error code in TV, press Device and Menu buttons on front of TV at same time for 6 seconds that will activate error code read process. Led will flash in 2 sequence with half second pause. count it and let me know the error code to proceed.

The Ballast that ignites the Lamp could cause the Lamp to fail and/or cause a buzzing noise. That being said, the Color Wheel in the Optical Block assembly could also cause a similar symptom. If Mitsubishi would be willing to help with the Lamp cost, I would call a local Mitsubishi repair facility to install it and see if the noise is still there and find out exactly what is causing it. Mitsubishi Customer Service Phone number is 1800-332-2119.
I hope this helps,
