Printer is producing too dark and purple shaded output. I believe this has to do with nozzle jet function but there is no information on how to reset the nozzles on the basis of the colour printout. It's possible that a faulty yellow ink cartridge is partly responsible, at least for the purple spectrum but not the darkness of prints. Can you tell me how to use the nozzle check function properly and if that is likely to correct the faulty colour printout.

The problem is with a i560 printer and I don't think your info can be translated into the kind of results I'm getting from a nozzle check.

Are you trying to print
1). photgraphs in colour
2). Photographs in B&W
or
2). plain text
In canon iP4000, you can do a Nozzle check by going to the maintenance.

Go to print anything from a word file or an excel file > in the print box > go to Properties> go to Maintenance.
Here you can do Cleaning, Deep Cleaning, Print head Alignment and Nozzle check.

If your Nozzle check matches the check pattern(this you will find once the Nozzle Check gives a print), then it possible that either the right paper is not put in or your master could be very dark. Alternatively you could reduce the print setting to Standard...

Let me know if the above solves your problem..if not we can do some more trouble shooting.

I thought you had a problem with the ip4000. Neverthe less, most canon printer follow the same logic.

    Is you Nozzle check ok?

i.e. it prints as per the Nozzle check pattern provided?

When printing dark blue or purple, it came out as dark or light cyan. Please advice.

Don't know what type of printer you have since you did not supply that info. But it sounds like the magenta or red ink/toner is not working on your machine. Since purple is made from using blue and red. Since you are only getting a cyan or blue color, the printer is not outputing the red. Check the red toner/ink cartridge to see if it is empty. Hope this helps.

Print colour is off

Sounds like you have cyan and magenta ink but no yellow. (You need yellow to get yellows, greens, reds and orange shades.) First try running the printer utility to clean your ink jets, then run a test print. If this does not work then simply replace the yellow ink cartridge.

When my printer prints a paper it is make a dark shade behind everything, how can i fix this?

Hi jevance2012:
If the printer is a laser, you need a new cartridge, more than likely.
If you would give the make and model, it sure would help.
Your printer setup page may need to be reset.

If your printer is an ink jet, then the problem is not in the cartridges.
Anyway, hope it helps.

Our Printer is not printing with the yellow ink

Have you checked the ink supply to make sure they have ink. What it sounds like is that one of the colors is either empty or clogged. Hoppe this will help. Bud

Docutech 6100 fault code P09213

NOTE: Setting the Print Darkness to 5 will establish a baseline for the machine. After the setting is set to 5 and the fault code clears, you can then change the setting back to where you originally set it.

To set the Print Darkness to 5:
  1. Select [Printer Options] on the right side of the Touch Screen.
  2. Use the [Up] or [Down] arrow buttons on the Touch Screen to set the Print Darkness to 5.
  3. Select [Apply]. Make sure you select Apply or the machine will default back to Print Darkness 4 in the Printer Options screen.
  4. Select [Close] to close Printer Options.
  5. If available, select [Reset] in the Fault Frame.
The Fault Frame is a way the machine communicates with the user. The information the Fault Frame provides may be informational, such as explaining what features have been disabled, or provides instructions on fault clearance.
  1. Select the shaded Printer icon on the top of the Touch Screen to view the Fault Frame. The Fault Frame will open.
  2. Select [Reset], if it is available. If the Reset icon is not available, then follow the instructions in the Fault Frame instead.

1220c Ink blockage

Sometimes the nozzles get clogged. If several normal cleaning cycles do not clear all the nozzles, next try removing the cartridge and setting it, nozzle-side down, on a steaming-hot damp paper towel for a few minutes, then running a cleaning cycle. If this doesn't solve the problem, as a last-ditch effort the head can be soaked in a shallow dish of alcohol for a few minutes. This cleared up a clog for me that no other method would solve, but I have heard that if soaked too long in alcohol, the head may be damaged.

Installing without the disk

Gabbyone, Here is the page to download drivers for your printer. Just click on the link for the appropriate operating system you need: http://downloads.lexmark.com/cgi-perl/downloads.cgi?ccs=229:1:0:525:0:0&emeaframe=&target=http://downloads.lexmark.com/cgi-perl/downloads.cgi&target=http://downloads.lexmark.com/cgi-perl/downloads.cgi&&req=::::: As far as why is it printing purple it could be several reasons but some common ones are; you?ve run out of a particular ink color, one of your ink jets could be clogged or damaged, your cartridge was refilled wrong and on occasionally a software driver gets messed up. Reinstall your printer, do a test and if it still prints purple try running your printers nozzle cleaning utility. If that fails post another questions and give us some history, how long has it been since you?ve printed, are you using new Lexmark or refilled cartridges and any other pertinent information.
