Something has gone into the sub and i am trying to open it without breaking the amp
On the back of the subwoofer remove all outside screws running the parameter of the metal back. You should do this with the speaker pointing down so the screws face upward. Once you've removed all the outside screws lay the speaker back in it's normal position and grap hold of the heatsink fins and give a slight twist to it to break the seal. That will loosen it from the back, and you can pull it out about 3 inches. Note: wires are still attached but that should give you enough access to get inside.
If necessary you can, clip the plastic tie wraps holding down the wires to gain more room inside. Be very careful not to clip any of the wires! Also, be sure to get replacement tie wraps to tie back the wires as they were originally. BTW, I have a typo in my first post above. It should read grab, not grap.
