Kitchenaid food processor

My food processor has been used one time and I tried to use it a second time and the locking mechanism for the bowl is not engaging so the machine will run. I can insert something into the little slot and the machine will run, but for some unknown reason locking the bowl into place does not do the same. BRAND NEW $134.00 MACHINE THAT DOES NOT OPERATE. VERY FRUSTRATING

SOURCE: Beater rubs bottom of mixing bowl.

JOE:You don’t say if you have a ‘tilt-head’or a ‘bowl-lift' mixer, but you can easily download a PDF version of your Owners Manual from the KA website (http://www.kitchenaid.com/flash.cmd?/#/page/home).Click on Customer Care>Locate Manuals& Guides> and enter the 6 character model number (in your case, use KSM90P)and select the last file listed that appear under Owners Manuals:KSM90PSWW0.pdf (2930.74 KB)and save that file to your PC.You’ll need to have Adobe Reader to be able to open it. Turn to Page 11 and you will find the instructions for adjusting the mixer head height.I have extracted the instructions below:
Beater to Bowl Clearance
Your mixer is adjusted at the factory so that the flat beaterjust clears the bottom of the bowl. If for any reason, the flat beater hits thebottom of the bowl or is too far away from the bowl, clearance

Tilt-Head models
• Unplug mixer.
• Lift motor head.
1aa320c.jpg
• Turn screw (A) SLIGHTLY counter clockwise (left) to raise flat beater or clockwise (right) to lower flat beater.
• Make adjustment with flat beater, so it just clears surface of bowl.
If you over adjust the screw, the bowl lock lever may not lock into place.

Bowl-Lift models
• Unplug mixer.
• Place bowl lift handle in down position.
9d33ad0.jpg
• Turn screw (B) SLIGHTLY counter clockwise (left) to raise flat beater and clockwise (right) to lower flat beater.
•Make adjustments with flat beater, so it just clears surface of bowl.

I hope this helps! –Howard, Burke, VA

SOURCE: kitchenaid mixer makes a lot of noise. The beater

Hi - I've been searching for general info on KitchenAid stand mixers and ran across this so I'm throwing my $.02 in... Since KA stand mixer bases are essentially made of cast metal parts, there is a very slim chance that there is a lateral misalignment (side-side) unless it got dropped...eek! Sounds like a head height adjustment issue. Check out this from KitchenAid Conversations:

Good luck.

SOURCE: My brand new KitchenAid Food Processor 5KPM50

If it indeed is brand new call Kitchenaid and tell them about it. They will ask for the serial number which is underneath the mixer. If it is less than one year old they will send you a new one. 800-422-1230

Make sure that the outlet you are using is good by plugging something else into it!!

My kenwood multipro 910 food processor not working

Check the power supply: Ensure that the food processor is properly plugged into a functioning power outlet. Sometimes, a loose connection or a tripped circuit breaker can cause power issues.

Safety interlock system: The Kenwood Multipro 910 food processor usually has a safety interlock system that ensures all parts are properly assembled before it can start. Check if all the components, such as the bowl, lid, and blade, are correctly locked into place. If any of the parts are not properly assembled, the food processor may not work.

Motor overload protection: If you have been using the food processor for an extended period or with heavy ingredients, the motor may have overheated and triggered the overload protection mechanism. In this case, you will need to allow the motor to cool down for some time before it can restart.

Fuse or circuit breaker: Some food processors have a built-in fuse or circuit breaker that protects the motor from electrical surges. Check if your food processor has a fuse and ensure that it is intact. If it has a circuit breaker, reset it if necessary.

Mechanical issues: If none of the above steps resolve the problem, there might be a mechanical issue with the food processor. It could be a faulty motor, broken wiring, or a malfunctioning switch. In such cases, it is advisable to contact the Kenwood customer support or take the appliance to an authorized service center for repair.

KitchenAid ACCOLADE 400 Mixer. When mixing dough the bowl jumps out of the the bowl lock. How can this problem be resolved?

I know this sounds a bit simple but the bowl cup can sometimes actually wear out and a very fast (# screws) and a new one and the problem is solved. If however there is a problem on the head hold down set screw (under the mixer in the cavity ) it can come loose then the mixer head can bounce all over the place causung the bowl to get loose in the holding cup at the base of the mixer., I hope this helps, let us know if you need more, we can FixYa

Kitchenaid food processor, motor rotates but when blade is inserted it won't rotate

It will be something in the mechanism that activates that switch in the base. It is more common for the fault to be in the lid but it is not so uncommon for it to be the bowl. You are using the pusher aren't you? That's the mechanism activator. This information is relevant to the wide mouth model.

Where would I find a bowl lift replacement mechanism for a kitchenaid 5 qt mixer model K5SSWW.I have a kitchenaid 5 qt mixer model K5SSWW. I need a bowl lift mechanism replacement part but can't find this...

The model number seems to be valid-but given the age of the unit few parts are readily available. You might want to try eBay or a used appliance store (or even Goodwill) to find a donor machine.

Kitchenaid Artisan Stand Mixer

This sounds like an issue of beater to bowl adjustment, which can come out of alignment naturally over time and with use of the machine.

If the flat beater is striking the bottom of your bowl, this may cause the locking mechanism to loosen and may cause the mixing head to "bounce" during use.

Your Use and Care Guide will cover the "beater to bowl adjustment," which you can do at home in a few minutes with a flathead screwdriver.
