Re installed sigmatel but my sound still wont work

Your laptop has a hardware problem. The unrecognized sound card and USB ports are a dead giveaway. You probably have a loose wire, or worse, a motherboard that is going bad. If your laptop is under warranty, call Dell and get the laptop to them right away. If not, you'll have to have an experienced repair person look at it and you'll have to decide if it's worth fixing. It appears that dell has actually issued an updated driver, but not linked it to the downloads for that model, see here (R173209)
If these do not work, IDT is the company that bought out SigmaTel, and you can find similar references by searching both SigmaTel 92xx and IDT 92xx.

Here is a link to all of the drivers for that motherboard. You should also see the drivers for the audio as well. I would suggest downloading the drivers and making a backup cd when everything is working.

I have a suggestion/solution for this that I need you to try. Here it is:

first, go to add or remove programs, look for Creative/SoundBlaster and Sigmatels listed there and uninstall every one of them. Then, go to Device manager and uninstall Creative/Soundblaster/Sigmatel under sound and game controllers. reboot the system.

now download and run this,

installation problem:-
i have already install winxp sp2
and all dirvers by cd with attach
motherboard D945GNT,and
one day sound driver was unistall automaticaly ,and never again install driver
