Question about LG ELECTRONICS Remote Control AKB73375501 p/n:AKB73375501
My LG AKB73375501 has stopped interfacing with my Blu Ray player but interfaces with my TV. I can only control my Blu Ray player via my TV remote. The Blu Ray remote used to work but, for some reason unknown to me suddenly stopped. I have tried the suggestion of removing the batteries and depressing the power button but this does not work in this case. The battery connections are fine. The batteries are fine as it still works to switch on my TV or change the AV input but will not control the Blu Ray player - please help. Thank you.
It has to be setup with blu-ray by setup codes. If you wish to get more details, check this site. Pull up previous posts there. Setup code list and setup proceedings to many popular brand remote controls are given. Three digit, four digit, five digits and two-digit code list are there. Check the site with patience. Surely you'll get a solution to your problem. Search the site by 'Timeslide' option. It will make search easy. Or, type in the brand name to your device into its search box, and press "Enter."

SOURCE: We have the LG remote
This remote comes with the LG tv's so it should work without a problem on them - it comes preprogrammed for them. If the remote no longer reacts then it's defective.
All you can do is to take out the batteries, press the power button for 10 seconds to fully reset it then reinsert the batteries, press the tv button and try again. if it fails even after that then take it back to the ones that sold it to you. If it came with a tv then contact a dealer - the remote can't be repaired, it will have to be replaced for free since it's still in the warranty period.

If the standby light on the TV blinks, as any remote control handset is pressed, means, the circuit between infrared sensor inside the TV and main system control section has the fault. If infrared sensor inside your TV were faulty, this will not happen. Here infrared sensor inside the TV and remote control, are working properly.
the fault is with the main system control circuit itself. To make this more confirm, just replace the infrared sensor inside your TV. It is an easy to get component, and won't cost more too. It can be bought from most of the electronic spare part selling shops at your town. There are so many types of infrared sensors are there in the market. You have to make sure, which type is used in your TV. This part can be located just behind the infrared sensor window at the front panel of the TV. In fact, you have to open the TV to access it, as it will be directly soldered to the front panel control circuit board. For your reference, I hereby includes the images of some types of it. Just see, it is a three solder terminal component, easy to get, and easy to fit. If the fault still occur even after replacing this component, surely the main system control IC and its memory IC section circuit should be troubleshooted. This is really a skilled work.
