When driving my 99 cougar and shifting into neutral at a stop sign/stop light my car remains at high idle and grinds teeth when I put it back in first. What could be the problem?
Sounds like the gearbox. But the test is this: Engage 1st and start slowly releasing the clutch pedal DONT HIT THE GAS. The engine should gradually fade out and bog down when the pedal is completely released. If the engine just bogs down at some point, or the fading is not gradual, the clutch is damaged. If you hear grinding its the gearbox.

When i turn up the volume to a certain point, it slowly fades out and distorts. What gives?
Are you talking about a cd player? My friend had a Kenwood and it would overheat and the sound would fade and distort. I believe his radio only did it in the winter (when he had the heat on.) If yours is overheating I'm not sure of how to fix it, but I'm thinking that may be the issue you are having.

Tv fades to black very low sound or or goes to blue & says lost siginal then goes toblank turn off set & waite a few min.& turn back on will only stay on for a few min. have to repeat.
This is not a "digital" problem that can be addressed in your setup or fixed at home. This sounds like a fading power supply. Often electronics fail slowly or partially.

You will need to consult a TV repairman.

No that's how to describe a problem, folks - with details. Using internal FM as the source is always the preferred way of troubleshooting system-wide receiver audio problems (no cables or setting in the way).

Does the sound come on immediately with power and then fade or is there a small delay while the electronics stabilize, a click and then sound that fades?

The fizzle probably means something is rapidly overheating or a capacitor is malfunctioning. If both channels do it, I'd suspect a common power supply problem. Can't help much more than that.

If the sound "fades" in and out that implies a SLOW change in volume.

If that is what you have, it is likely that there is a problem with the power input or power supply as these are the only thing that would have a time constant to react SLOWLY. Fortunately, this area is one of the easier ones to find and fix.

Picture slowly fades,then comes back and repeats

Sounds to me like there is bad solder somewhere on the filament supply circuit. Do you know what a cold solder joint looks like? It is a solder joint that is not making a good mechanical or electrical connection. When you lose that connection the filament inside the tube slowly stops heating the electron guns and the picture will fade away. When the connection comes back the video will come back.

Might be worth it to take the back off and check out the little board that is connected to the end of the tube. The problem is either there or on the power supply.

Shouldn't be a problem for a repair tech. I would not spend very much money though.
