I installed the firmware update to fix the avic-z2 freezing problem. The system is supposed to update and restart. All I get is the system saying upgrade fail, then it try's to restart again, and keeps saying system upgrade failed. This went on for 10 minutes. I shut the system down, now every time I start it, it does the same thing, it says it is trying to upgrade, but fails!
I had the same problem. Mine originally stopped at 23/92 files. Then after a cool night, I started it again in the morning and got 91/92 files loaded before it started to fail again. I left the disk in and after about 20 fails in a row, it finally loaded!!! Recommend you just leave it in there and it should work. good luck

Thanks. I had esentially done the same thing. I tried it over and over on seperate days until it finally loaded. It seems to have fixed the start-up problems I had been experiencing. The Pioneer peoplse were not exactly helpful. I don't think I will be purchasing their products in the future.
