On my proscan tv, when i turn it on the sound works but nothing comes on the screen, the tv is 8 months old.

Purchase 32 inc Proscan on black friday, 7 months later, tv would not turn on, the light comes on, but screen is all black, what should I do

This is probably a bad capacitor that has opened up in the audio section, I suggest a tv tech to check the set.

Possible fault in the convergence circuit, failure of the IC. I advice that you must not tamper on the TV but ask for the warranty replacement without even opening the set. You are entitled to this service and must not throw it off. So call up the dealership and register your complaint .

Must return for waranty repair ur main video board backlight is dead,the main video board no good.

4. With remote enter 9 8 7 6
5. A menu will appear on left side
6. Arrow down to backlight and with right arrow key move number from 81 to 83, press menu button twice,
7. Turn up volume and listen if hum is gone.

Watching a movie tonight...and slowly there was odd behavior from the screen. No volume at first, then flickering, fragmenting and now, as the others only shows the red power. I have noticed some strange flickering the past 2 weeks or so. I thought it may be the cable, so did not concern myself too much. I believed that was the problem tonight as well. But the screen is definately not responding to the remote or manual button.

I have a GE 46 in TV that had the same occurrence. I believe it is a sign that the amplifier is overheated or stressed. The way I fixed mine was to unplug TV and leave off for a few minutes -then plug in. I discovered this by accident when the power went off one day and the sound returned (had been using my vcr audio output plugged into my stereo for weeks!) This fix will work for weeks-sometimes months-evidently resets the circuits inside the amp somehow. Last time this happened I also removed the back of TV and blew out the dust with compressed air while it was unplugged-still have sound 4 months later without a "reset"-so I'm guessing it did help .
