Keeps resetting Alright my dad's acer keeps resetting itself. It gets to the startup screen which is the screen with Acer across the middle and is surrounded by a white background etc. Anyways it'll just get to that screen and then it'll reset itself. I can use F2 to enter setup but that's about it. How I think the problem happened: Alright my little brother said something like Itunes wasn't working so he reset the computer. Something came up like an error message or something so I held down the power to shut it off. So was that the fatal mistake or something?

Try pressing F8 on start up this will take you into safe mode, then when the options menu comes up choose 'Last Known Good Configuration' and then press enter, for a restart. If the problem persists the boot.ini file may be damaged and you will need the windows cdrom to repair the system, if you dont have one borrow a copy off a friend and use your license number under your notebook, this is legal; as this is what you pay for not the cd.
