Question about Panasonic PT-47WX49 47" Rear Projection Television
Well ive made some good adjustments in the service menu but im still waiting for an email with the service manual so i cant figure out how to get the chk... message off the top right of the screen if anyone knows how it would be greatly apreciated
You should have purchaced the service manual before you went into the sevice mode, as the service mode is a dangerous place to be if you do not know anything about it. You can get the service manual from www.servicemanuals.net for about 20 bucks or so. A lot less expensive then a serviuce call I would think.

I am sorry, but if you knew what was up you would not be asking for help. Simply press the power button as well as the action button on the TV set at the same time for 2 seconds. NOT ON THR REMOTE CONTROLLER! The set should shut off and come back with a medium volume and on channel three. You may also need to reprogram the channel memory, as a lot of sets lose the channels after the service mode is active and restored., and a few does not, so if the channels do not work, don't panic and go back to the service menu to see what was done. Like I said I have seen a lot of peeps go back in and get confused. BUT that said, if your going to be a technician, get the service manual, as it will help you a lot in the future.
Don't forget to say how this worked pleae.
A simple inexpensive digital VOM should work fine.

Techman, I have the following details into Service Mode: 15.1 Quick entry to service mode: TOP PREVIOUS NEXT When minor adjustments need to be done to the electronic controls, the method for entering the service mode without removal of the cabinet back is as follows, using the remote control: Select SET-UP icon, enter ?Program CH? and select CABLE mode in ?Input Setup? option. Select TIMER icon and set SLEEP time for 30 Min. Press ?OK? then VOL up to exit menus. Tune to the Channel 124. Adjust VOLUME to minimum (0). Press VOL ← (decrease) on receiver. Red ?CHK? appears in upper corner. To toggle between aging and service modes: While the ?CHK? is displayed on the left top corner of the CRT, pressing ?OK? and ?VOL? UP on the TV simultaneously will toggle between the modes. Red ?CHK? for service modeand yellow ?CHK? for aging. Press POWER on the remote control to display the service adjustment modes menu, select adjustment by pressing the VOL right/left buttons and CH up/down buttons on the remote and OK to enter the adjustment. Service mode menu TOP PREVIOUS NEXT Have you gotten this to work?
