if you read what i posted above, i didnt say i knew nothing about it, i actually fixed about 90% of the picture problems i had using the service menu. i guess i will resort to spending money on a service manual if i cant get any real responses related to the questions i ask. again, if anyone who has the service manual or is familiar with this service menu could answer my question i thank youj in advance.

You should have purchaced the service manual before you went into the sevice mode, as the service mode is a dangerous place to be if you do not know anything about it. You can get the service manual from www.servicemanuals.net for about 20 bucks or so. A lot less expensive then a serviuce call I would think.

I am sorry, but if you knew what was up you would not be asking for help. Simply press the power button as well as the action button on the TV set at the same time for 2 seconds. NOT ON THR REMOTE CONTROLLER! The set should shut off and come back with a medium volume and on channel three. You may also need to reprogram the channel memory, as a lot of sets lose the channels after the service mode is active and restored., and a few does not, so if the channels do not work, don't panic and go back to the service menu to see what was done. Like I said I have seen a lot of peeps go back in and get confused. BUT that said, if your going to be a technician, get the service manual, as it will help you a lot in the future.

A simple inexpensive digital VOM should work fine.

Techman, I have the following details into Service Mode: 15.1 Quick entry to service mode: TOP PREVIOUS NEXT When minor adjustments need to be done to the electronic controls, the method for entering the service mode without removal of the cabinet back is as follows, using the remote control: Select SET-UP icon, enter ?Program CH? and select CABLE mode in ?Input Setup? option. Select TIMER icon and set SLEEP time for 30 Min. Press ?OK? then VOL up to exit menus. Tune to the Channel 124. Adjust VOLUME to minimum (0). Press VOL ← (decrease) on receiver. Red ?CHK? appears in upper corner. To toggle between aging and service modes: While the ?CHK? is displayed on the left top corner of the CRT, pressing ?OK? and ?VOL? UP on the TV simultaneously will toggle between the modes. Red ?CHK? for service modeand yellow ?CHK? for aging. Press POWER on the remote control to display the service adjustment modes menu, select adjustment by pressing the VOL right/left buttons and CH up/down buttons on the remote and OK to enter the adjustment. Service mode menu TOP PREVIOUS NEXT Have you gotten this to work?

If you're finding it difficult to service/repair your car, get one of those online manuals. You'll not have to wait for others to answer, or rely on mechanics and all.
Plus i know a website that has very good manuals online,

without expiry i.e. for lifetime.

Turns on but wont bring menu up

Try flashing the firmware first, if it won't communicate with the pc, try another pc. If it is still stuck you may need to replace the HD. I had the same problem after replacing the HD I was able to flash the firmware and get working.

Convergence adjustments codes with remote control

If your talking about a service menu, NEVER ever unless you have the service manual, go into the service menu and change anything to try to fix a problem the service menu is there to adjust sets at instalationsd and not when a problem, occours and when theres a smell. common sense tells you something is wrong and burnt up. So how is a service menu that you have no clue what to do with going to help you fix a set? Im sorry man but wake up and smell the coffee. what makes you a service tech after your set breaks down.,. Oh by the way there is NO such thing as a "CODE" to fix anything in your set. There is a service menu with settings to adjust things like convergence and vertical and tunning of channels, ect ect. Get a manual and follow it if you want to try a "code". you can get one at http://www.service manuals.net Then you will need to call a tech as your set is a solid state set with No user replaceable parts inside them. Please dont risk your life trying to fix a TV set as there is a lot of High Voltage inside these sets even when they are unplugged.
