Bought this clipper last spring '08 and it was great for quite awhile. Suddenly, it will not cut any fur from my dogs. I bought it for two cockapoos, it always cut the one's fur, but the other, never, seems she has more poodle-like fur that it just wouldn't go through. That didn't bother me that much, figured I got what I paid for, but now, it won't cut ANY dog fur. I took the blades off, cleaned and oiled them (not that their was anything in there really). I know they cut, cause I used them on my husband's head (I know, sounds gross, but he showered right after, haha), with fine results.
My thought it to just chuck these things and spend some money for a very good pair, but before I do that, I would appreciate any tips that might help these things actually do what they're intended to do!
I have had this same problem! I bought new blades, sharpened old ones, and nothing worked. Finally, I went to an authorized service center and they couldn't figure it out. Then the tech. pressed on the blade (the outside bottom one) and it cut! When you remove the blades with the 2 big screws, there are 2 more smaller screws inside under the smaller blade. One of those was not screwed in tightly. That was all it was! I guess they jiggle loose. I hope this helps!

If your dogs hair is matted you will have to get under the matting for the blade to cut. You can separate a section of hair all the way down to the dogs skin. Maybe at the shoulder. Then with the blade flat against the dogs skin and using no more pressure than the weight of the clipper try moving the clippers straight forward slowly and don't force it. If it cuts, continue slowly. If it does not cut at all try spraying a ludricant like wd 40 on the cutting blade while the clipper is running, press down on a paper towel with a little force enough to change the sound of the clipper for just a minute. This will dislodge any hair jams and you can then continue. In the future Andis Agc 2 speed clippers usually work the best. About $120. I don't know how short you want to clip your dogs but if you will let me know I will send some recommendations of what blades and equipment you might need. Good luck, Karen
Hi:
I have an Andis PM 3 15 piece kit. I purchased it only 2 wksago and only used it once. It cuts the dense coat of my Shih Tzu well, but it shut off and seemed to trip the breaker when I was using it!!
I got the breaker back on, then began using it again, to have it shut off again and the breaker tripped again!!
Any suggestions as to what happened??

I have had several different types of electric clippers. All of them cut human hair but won't cut our dog's hair. I recently tried my cordless clippers and it worked like magic.......for two strokes. Then it refused to cut any longer and just acted like a comb. We have got proper pet clippers with sharpened blades but even these won't cut. Our dog is a Maltese and I have seen clippers work before so I am at a loss as to why I can't get any to work.
So far I have now spent money on two pairs of expensive clippers thinking it was something I was doing wrong! They both worked for a couple of cuts and thats it. Im realy fed up! I have two Old English Sheep dogs and like to keep them trimmed. Ive cleaned them, oiled them, checked and checked them and there is no reason why they shouldnt cut. All they do is pull the furr and clog up?
Any groomers out with any tips...Please help.
I think it has something to do with the blades. I think they either go out of alignment, or they are really cheap and dull quickly. I have two pair of these things and can't get the blades to go back right. Can anyone suggest a good clipper? I'll pay to not be frustrated any more.
I'm having the same problem. Would like to know how to solve it.
This was making me crazy since I use my clippers 6x/yr and keep everything clean and lubed. One very simple adjustment mad all the difference and everything in life was good again. Here's the link:http://www.ebay.com/gds/TIPS-ON-CLIPPER-...
