THE STAPLES ARE TWISTING ON THE TOP SIDE, NOT PIERCING THE PAPER ON THE BACK SIDE. A COWORKER PROBABLY YANKED A STAPLE OUT AND TWISTED OR BENT THE CUTTING MECHANISM.
Easy to dismantel more diffucult to built it back. Thanks to pictures, you can manage to build it back.
This pictures are useful because when you will dismantel the duax, the springs will spring without you had noticed the position of parts.

1. top is not fitted down properly to set safety switch
2. Paper could be jammed in the cutters. Unplug the unit before trying anything. Could be a staple is stuck as well.
probably find that some cutters have been damaged and are hitting each other rather than sliding past each other
using wd 40 is lubricating those cutters but as the lubricant is used by the new paper it becomes inefficient
get a quote for repairs but generally ( unless the machine cost is in the 4 figure area) it is not cost effective to repair
You should be able to get the paper out by engaging the reverse switch - this should wind the paper back out of the top. If this does not work the machine is truly jammed and if you cannot get the paper out bit by bit, you will have to strip the machine and remove it that way. Make sure the machine is unplugged as some machines have very sharp cutters and can cause an injury to your hands.
Look at the above picture of the stapler and follow the bottom of it from the left side over to the right side. Right there on the end of it is a small piece of metal that looks bent down, bull this out and set your row of staples on top of the sled you pulled out and then slide it back it. it is ready to staple something.
When it jams, does the paper get bent or crinkled? If so, there is probably something lodged in there causing the paper to stop. Could be a paperclip or staple, or maybe another piece of paper.
If there is nothing blocking the paper and it just stops feeding on one side, you may have a tension problem -- springs might be getting old and not pushing rollers together tight enough to feed the paper. If you can take the machine apart, try switching the springs around to see if that makes a difference.
There are two additional screws under the labels. You can feel the holes under the labels with your fingertips. Cut a hole in the labels to access the screws.
If you unscrew 4 bottom screws to lift the top cover, you may find out that there are 2 orange rubbers above its hammer that broke and needs to be replaced.
I think you may have to use some sort of tear away paper on top of the loops so the needle doesn't get caught, as well as stabiliser underneath. I just checked the manual for my janome and that's what it says for towelling.
I have the Infoguard SX-100M Axeus, sold by Staples. Only the reverse was working, UNPLUG and open back cover, the paper mechanical switch was working fine, the gears and fuse was ok, I think something on the circuit board was fried. I switched the BLACK and WHITE wires with each other going to the shredder motor, thus when I switched it to reverse, it would go foward and shred. Its working now, only in reverse.
