Sim2 Seleco DLP SDV 100 Projector only giving white screen dimly.

Neeeeed help!!!!! Church project---Have tried many things but willing to listen to all ideas. Seems either projector isn't getting signal from computer. Older model IBM laptop thinkpad connecting to projector via an adaptor from EVC to VGA ports or cables. Manual calls for EVC but we only have cable marked PVC---is there any difference???? Adapter has ports for monitor, mouse and audio. We can see that monitor worked but haven't seemed to get sound or picture to be recognized by projector. All ideas welcome!!!! Thank you in advance for all your help!!!!

It's a resolution issue. make sure the projector matches the laptop's resolution. the projector has a 800x600 native and a 1024x768 max. and it's not digital.

Vivtek d510 projector has black and white spots covering 1/3 of projected image

The DLP Chip is failing .The DLP or Digital Light Projection Chip contains up to 8 million tiny microscopic mirrors that tilt to project a digital image onto the screen. These mirrors are failing causing light and dark spots to appear.Unfortunately fixing this projector is probably going to cost more than buying a new one. Hope this helps.

My DLP projector SIM2 DOMINO D35 is turned on and works normally BUT picture is absent on all of inputs (projector shows NO SIGNAL, green indicators is ON). Sources of signal and cables are in order. What...

It is possible that the last time this was connected there must have been an higher input applied than is recommeded so that the input PRE_AMPS were loaded to fail.
You need to check with an signal trace on the input to find if an OP-AMP has failed or the LOGIC switching IC had failed.
Need to test using a signal tester and meter.

Optoma EP719 settings?Colorwheel? Bulb?? Cable?

take the lamp out and shake the projector gently and tilt it in all directions and listen for something loose near the front of the projector. if you hear something it could be the light tunnel has collasped or the colowheel has lost its segments.

My optoma is projecting white spots onto the screen. They seem to just appear. Some have began by 'sparkling' for a while and then they stay white perminantly.

if it is a DLP projector then the DMD on the engine is likely bad or the main board is bad. The white things are pixels.

it needs a good service .all that needs to be done is open the top cover, the main board , clean all the dust possible.there is a glass dlp , clean it with a soft cloth ( like the one used to clean specks).on refiiting the main board make sure to firmly press the 100 pin black connector on the dlp board engine.this is the cause of the vertical flashy line
once repacked start the unit.it should work fine!!!!

the lamp is not at problem, but the dlp engine is at fault, u may have to replace it.since u bought it 2nd hand,it is not worth changing the same as it will cost u more than ur buying price.when u plan to buy ur next projector, make sure u buy a new one as it will come with a fresh lamp & manufaturers warranty on the unit & at 4000 / 5000 hours of projector usage is guaranteed!
