Bulbs keep blowing

I have owned the t.v. for almost six years and have had to replace the bulb 4 times. but recently i replaced the bulb a week and half ago andthe bulb blew after 1 week. i ordered another bulb and repaced it just this past friday, and this bulb blew sunday night. i dont belive i could have gotten 2 defective bulbs back to back. in the past the bulbs seem to last about a year to 18 months, but to go through 3 bulbs in 3 weeks i feel that there may be another problem with the t.v. im unable to detect.

You may be touching the bulb (ampule) and leaving a fingerprint on it which creats a hot spot and blows the bulbs up prematurely.

SOURCE: just replaced the lamp after 2 years. TV worked

Make sure that the lamp cage is seating well .. then make sure the door is closed properly. there is a door switch and if the door dont close right the switch may be telling the set the lamp is out.

SOURCE: New bulb/TV still shuts down

Its far more likely the result of the power pwb capacitors that have failed. As the 34 code will appear if the capacitors fail on the Power PWB. You can get the V26 DLP Power repair kit at the following link.with free instructions

If the lamp light turns red and the set wont power up put the V26 Power repair kit in and that should take care of it. The kit contains the capacitors and detailed instructions on CD

You need to make sure you have at least 6 to 8 inches of clearance behind the set. You may also need to replace the balast

Head light bulb on 1992 chevy silverado 1500 4x4 keeps blowing up

If you touch the bulb (glass ampule area) the oil from your skin will get in it (fingerprint) which will in turn creat a hot spot on the bulb and blow it up .

Bulbs frequently burning out.

The bulbs last forever on my 240s, but they don't last on my '94 850 and '98 XC70. The dash bulbs are hard to fix and the radio bulbs are soldered in. One solution is to always keep the dash lights dimmed about 30% from full brightness, and don't leave the headlights on during daylight. I keep them on but need to replace at least one headlight bulb each year. You could also check the battery voltage with a simple voltmeter just to be sure the voltage regulator is within spec. If the charging voltage is too high, the battery life might also be shortened.
