Look at the power socket. It should be the same as the one on the back of the computer.

Usually monitor cables are standard, and are the same as your PC. You may want to try the one from your PC see if that works fine, then you know exactly what to get.

this is most likely the capacitors on the power board in the monitor, if your comfortable wkith opening it, and good with a soldering iron, etc
then you can most likely fix it, just look at the CAPs and you'll probably see them fat! or some gew on the top of them!!

Monitor power cords are an industry standard, you can pick one up at your local electronics store such as radioshack,bestbuy,circuit city.
