There is a good chance that the heater in the freezer is not working. If it is not working the coils in the freezer do not defrost and you won't be cooling either side. [cooling coils are froze up and the air fan cannot deliver cold air to either side and air fan cannot remove warm air from either side]. You might also want to check the defrost timer switch.

When the fridge stops working, can you hear the fan operating inside the unit? It sounds like you have a failing evaporator fan motor. This fan motor circulated cold air from the freezer to the refrigerator.
Sounds like the cold control has stuck . Unplug the two wires from the cold control and plug them together. Turn one wire over and plug it into the other. away from the cold control.
If it runs then that cold control is the problem.
that model number does not come up in my program, so I cannot give you any concrete advice. The fact that your freezer is great is a good sign, nothing major. Sounds like you may have a bad freezer fan motor, not blowing cold air down to the fridge section. but the fact that it is intermittent like that, you might have a faulty main control board. Without proper inspection, I cant say for sure.
The fridge gets its cold air from the freezer through a vent(damper)
between the freezer and fridge. The fan in the freezer blows air through
it.Make sure the fan is running. There is a flap you adjust with the
fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the
fridge temp ..
there is a fan in the back of the freezer that pushes air into the fridge side of the fridge it sounds like this has gone out on you. this fan is usually right by the coils in the freezer the only thing that keeps the fridge cold is a little air being pushed over there constantly
