Sometimes the mass air flow sensor will become clogged with some miniscule particles of dust or whatever else. When you open up your hood somewhere near where the air filter box is, there will be a hose running from that to the engine, the mass air flow sensor should be somewhere in near there. They are easy to remove and should be held in place with a few screws. Make sure not to touch any of the electrical connectors on the inside or allow them to get dirty. I used mass air flow sensor cleaner from the local parts place but it is a bit pricey. There may be some alternative cleaners available that are not as expensive. Take the sensor to a relatively dust free area and spray it all over with the cleaner and allow to dry. At the same time under the hood where the sensor was spray that area as well. Once the sensor has dried out re-install it and you should notice an improvement. If the problem still persists you may need to change your spark plugs, or spark plug wires.

The sensor is located on the left hand rear side of the block (near the bell housing). It is held in place by a 10mm bolt. It's to the right of the exhaust manifold (LH - radiator side) on the V6. Once you purchase the new sensor you'll be able to identify it on the engine. The connector to this sensor is located in the illustration.

2009 Hyundai Sonata car failed inspection due to a check engine light coming on.

It all depends on why your light is on. Most National part store chains offer free scanning to tell you what codes are stored and setting your light on. Sometimes clearing the codes will keep the light off long enough to pass the inspection, but either way you will know where the problem lies and will be able to get it fixed so you will not have to worry about it.

My 2011 hyundai has 58000 miles engine shut down the dealer said it would cost $6000 to repair beacuse there was no oil in the engine and they would not cover the warranty no warning lights came showi

I would say that you have just learnt the lesson that it is up to you to check the oil and water a teast once a week so that the warranty conditions are met. Having said that get a good low milage unit from a wrecker ( preferably one from a rear end accident Written off) and replace the engine then sell the car.

I have a 2000 Hyundai sonata and my temp gauge goes down. Most of the time it's on the interstate and when it does this my car spits and sputters like its going to die. My check engine light is also on...

Hi Paige, Have the thermostat replaced and then see what happens. It sounds as if the engine temperature is the problem you have remained with, that's not to say the mass air flow sensor were not defective. Regards John

2000 HYUNDAI SONATA RADIO DOES NOT WORK AFTER BATTERY JUMP?

Does the Check Engine light come ON when this happens? Whenever the "Check Engine" light comes on, there is always a DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) stored in the ECM (Engine Control Module). You'll need an OBDII (On-Board-Diagnostics) scanner to retrieve any codes recorded/set in ECM. Once you do this and let us know what, if any codes are set, then we can go from there.
