Try finding a reset button and plug it into the computer and press the reset button while its plugged in (just an idea). Some mp3 players also have a format option in it some where, you might want to try that.

First, reset the music player by pressing and holding the Reset button for 30 seconds. After resetting the player, connect it to the Computer and restart the Computer to check if it's recognized.
If the Computer still doesn't recognize the music player then open the Device Manager by pressing the "Windows logo key+R key" simultaneously and typing devmgmt.msc in the Run dialog box and clicking OK. In the Device Manager, check if there is any exclamation mark visible, if there is any then right click on it and uninstall it. After uninstalling all the devices with exclamation mark, restart the Computer with the player remain connected to the Computer.
My
computer will not recognize my Sansa sandisk MP3 player. I tried to
reset it, and when I get the "Please connect USB" message, it still
won't recognize it.
Try a different usb port first, then try another computer (with a
compatible OS, of course). If another computer will not recognize it,
then the player is actually damaged.
