how do i take off my write protection off

Perhaps it has not been prepped, eg: not formated to use. Format it with fat32 file system using formatting software from the manufacturer. Also, make sure the movie file does not exceed 16 GB.

put it computer and install flashdriver.

click start control panel administrative tools computer management device manager scroll down universal serial bus controllers you could see a yellow question / exclamation mark? ! or a red X

you will need to update/reinstall drivers

right click to reinstall drivers

if you can see your usb drive but its not working

ports (com&lpt) right click update driver if this fails to fix the problem

check the USB leads that attach to the motherboard usually red white green black make sure they are securely seated and have no dust build up on them dust will cause static and a lot of unforeseen problems to a computer and its parts

Windows XP, Vista , or Windows 7 should be able to automatically detect and install it. Try using it on another computer that has either Windows XP, Vista , or Windows 7 on it. If it doesn't automatically detect and install it on that one then the flashdrive is dead.

maybe it's viruses. try to clear your flashdrive from viruses. then format it, use only format program from you flash drive manufacture (DON'T USE WINDOWS UTILITIES)

The drive is probably password protected by Securlock software.

is there a little switch on the side of the usb, if so move it. test with "H2testW"

Most flashdrives (aka pen drives or usb sticks) do not require installation. They are a storage device that you add information to. If you could post your OS (either XP, Vista, Linux or Mac OS X) we can go through the process of adding and reading information from the drive.
