Make sure that your xbox account is connected to a Xbox live membership. If so go sign out, and then sign back in and it should Work.

SOURCE: boost signal to allow xbox live

1 buy and cantenna and a hawking hwug1 (from hawking website). install hawking on computer (usb wireless device) and then run the network wizard to make the connection a proxy server. run a lan cable from the computer to the xbox, and enable the wireless connection on the laptop to be shared with other computers on the network.

SOURCE: gateway laptop was connecting to internet wirelessly, not now

Check that if there is Static ip configured on your Lan-Card...

if yes.. then you need to configure the IP addresses manually for W-LAN as well.

One more thing; if Lan-card is not configured with static IP then

make sure your W-lan IP seting is on "obtain Ip automatically"

Here is the way to do this....

Click on the start orb to open a list of programs and content. The start menu has been replaced by the “start orb” which still gives you the same functionality as the start button from previous OS versions, but consumes less screen real estate.
Right click on “Network” and go to properties. That opens the “Network and Sharing Center” which is your central office for anything pertaining to (just as it says) networking or sharing resources.
On the left hand column you want to click on “Manage Network Connections.”

This opens the Network Connections Window which you will find familiar to Windows 2000/XP. It will list all of your NICs or Wireless Connections.
Right click and go to properties of the connection you would like to statically assign. You will now be prompted for an administrative password. This is part of Microsoft’s new User Account Control (UAC) which will help unauthorized changes to your systems.
Once you have authenticated you will see the properties of the selected network connection.

The properties screen is very similar to what you’ve seen in the past, but one thing you will likely notice is by default Windows Vista supports IPv6. If you’re on a corporate or government network that is running IPv6 you can fill in your IP information there.
Otherwise, you will select Internet Protocol Version 4 (IPv4) and click properties. Now you will be able to Choose the option "Obtain Ip adress automaticlay"

Close the Network Connections Window

Let me know if this helps.. Good luck...

SOURCE: Motorola SB5101 SURFboard Cable Modem Reboots Itself

If your modem has a reset button I would start there. If it doesnt, then you might be able to configure it manually, usually typing in 127.0.0.1(you can still access your modem even if you do not have internet) See if there is a reset button inside the settings, if not, then just keep a look out for any odd settings that might explain what it is doing. If none of this works, then you probalby have a bad cable modem, however, I would try a different CAT5 cable just to be safe, you never know, it could be a bad wire causing a short-out or something.

SOURCE: My laptop will not connect to my wireless connection

Hi,
To turn the wireless radio on and off, press FN + F2, if it still won't connect the adapter will probably need hard resetting.
This method will hard reset the wireless drivers back to default settings, but before you perform this remove power from the modem and router for 2 minutes reconnect power and wait another 2 minutes for them to settle down.

Right click "computer" select "manage" and then "device manager", a list will populate, then click on the + sign next to "network adapters" and right click on the wireless adapter and "uninstall" the device, reboot the PC and wait for windows to detect the wireless card and install the drivers for it, this will appear in the system tray (bottom right hand side) when its done try to connect again.

Good luck

Lagging on a xbox 360 with a 320gb hard drive

It is not only the memory to check when your xbox is lagging. You need to check if you are connected wirelessly for it might be interferrences issues. You need to connect via ethernet cable first to isolate wireless issue. Once connected via ethernet cable and still lagging you can check the bandwith issue. Make sure that when connected to your computer/tower, its only the xbox in use. Turn off any computer, laptop, any wireless device that might be using the internet.

How to connect your Xbox 360 to the internet

Hello,

In this guide I will go over how to connect your Xbox 360 to the internet either via wired or wireless connection.

Wireless Connection

*For a wireless connection you need a wireless access point(router) and either a Xbox with built in wifi adapter or purchase a xbox wireless adapter*

-Turn on your xbox and go to "My Xbox" then go to "System Settings"
-Select "Network Settings"
-Select the name of your wireless network.
If you do not see your network, select "Advanced options" then select "Specify unlisted Network" then enter your network name.
-
Enter your wireless network security key. It may prompt you to update your console, select yes.

Wired Connection

*For a wired connection you need to use an Ethernet cable and plug one end into the back of your xbox and the other end into your router or cable modem.*

-Turn on your xbox and go to "My Xbox" then go to "System Settings"
-Select "Network Settings"
-Select "Test Xbox Live Connection", afterwards it may prompt you to update your console, select yes.

Now, you are connected to the internet and can enjoy xbox live.

Regards,

I have wireless internet how do i get connect to the xbox 360

Depends if you have an Xbox Elite or an older Xbox 360?
If you have an Xbox Elite then there will be an in- built wireless, For older xbox 360's you will have to go and buy an Xbox wireless adapter.
If you go to settings, network settings, and select connect to xbox live via wireless then you will be prompted to input your security details for your Wireless and you should then be connected via wireless to xbox live.

Cant connect to internet using internet stick

The internet stick you have would be a USB device which is not supported by Xbox 360, you can connect to Xbox 360 wirelessly or through a wired connection

One way of connecting wireless internet is through the ethernet cable to a laptop paired with your wireless router, or you would have to buy a Wi-Fi adapter for Xbox 360 which retails around $90.

Since Xbox 360 does not have a software like a PC, it is unable to recognize the USB internet stick you have as a internet connection, it may probably end up showing it up just as a USB device on the system settings menu on the Xbox 360 dashboard

I have a wireless router hooked to my computer & my son recently got a wireless-G USB adapter so that he can play his xbox 360 online. Will this work, or will we have to put the router on the xbox...

XBOX 360 will only work properly with a 'genuine' USB WIFI adapter designed specifically for it (and at an over inflated price IMO!).
One popular way to play 'network' via the internet is to connect the XBOX 360 to your PC via Ethernet cable and have the PC connecting to the internet either via another ethernet connection or more likely via a Wifi connection which could be via your USB adapter connected to your PC and talking to your Wifi Router)
