Motherboard Problem I have a p5vd2-mx se motherboard.I start up my computer.Appear the Asus X series Logo and then about 5 seconds computer is power off.How to solve this problem. Help Me!

I start the computer, go to Bios, and when finished the computer will not boot.
Hard drives fine - it just goes to a blank screen with a bar (-) in the top LH corner and does nothing.

Is this indicative of Motherboard failure, CPU failure - or both ?

Hi it sounds like an operating system crash to me, before going out spending anything try entering the BIOS by hitting "delete" when logo comes up then change "boot secwence" to boot from CD first then HD second.
Next insert XP disc press F10 to save changes and exit......it will then boot from cd and you can try to repair operating system an still keep all your files.

hope this helps

you can also perform a full format in the same way :-)
