Canon told me "there is no solution" Cost: $75 labor and $45 parts = cost of a new printer. Sorry.

Why is my canon ip1800 printer still not printing after cleaning the ink absorber, I still get the message ink absorber is full

Shelly, Did you reset printer after cleaning absorber.
Press and hold the "Power" button and reconnect the power cord. When the printer comes on, release the button. Wait five seconds and push the "Power" button again. This resets the printer's internal memory and overrides the "ink absorber full" error code.
Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

My canon ip1880 's ink absorber is full

Ink absorber is a part of the printer that absorbs the excess ink while printing. There is a way to reset it but its not recommended, as the ink will eventually leak into the printer. I suggest that you get a replacement ink absorber pad from canon and replace the one in your set.

Where is the waste ink

You're probably referring to the Waste Ink Tank in a Canon printer. If you've received the Waste Ink Tank nearly full message, there's a workaround.

The waste ink absorber is actually a pad/sponge that absorbs left over ink spray. There's really no precise way to measure the amount of ink these pads hold so when the message first appears, "waste ink absorber is almost full" it's just an estimate.

The workaround for the message is as follows:

Reset ip2000 / 3000

1. Turn off printer
2. Hold down Resume button and press Power button.
3. Keep holding down Power button and let Resume button go.
4. Press Resume button 2 times then let BOTH buttons go.
5. Green lights will flash and then stop blinking.
6. When green lights are solid, press the Resume button 4 times.
7. Press the Power button and the printer should turn off, if not,
press the Power button once more.
8. Your printer should respond as normal.

Using the above procedure should clear the message and your printer should function normally afterward. Best of luck and thanks for using Fixya!

Pixma ip1880 ink absorber is full pls tell how to fix

Turn off the printer and take some soft absorbent tissues and fold it into a pad.
Lift the cover to expose the ink cartridges and place this pad over the ink absorber on the LHS of the printer so the pad soaks up the wet ink.
Repeat until the absorber is nearly dry.

How to remove ink in th full ink absorber?

waste ink absorber error message can sometimes be solved by resetting the printer itself. i havent yet tried in ip1880 but in ip1200, th e resetting method is this: (it might also work on other models)
1. unplug the power cord and the data cable(printer to pc) 2. while press-holding the (printer) power button plug the power cable (do not release printer power button until step 3) 3. press 'resumet' ( the button below the power button of the printer) button twice... 4. release the power button 5. connect the usb cable of the printer to the pc... - a new canon printer shall be found in the list of printers. use it as default printer
