How to fix power supply in Dell optiplex 790

If a power supply has gone out in a PC the only cost effective thing to do is replace the power supply. If the Optiplex is the Dell I'm thinking of it requires a slim power supply. You may have to contact Dell to purchase another power supply.

Optiplex gx820 can i connect 300 watt power supply

You listed GX820 and GX260.

I am assuming you meant the GX260.

There are three varieties of the Gx260.

1) The SFF (Small Form Factor) power supplies can be replaced, but I know of no upgrades for these.

2) For the SDT (Small Desk Top), you can get up to a 270 (best I have seen).

Example of where to get one.

For the Mini Tower, here is an example of a 400W replacement. There may be others for this model.

I have a GX280 Mini Tower and recently upgraded my PSU to one very similar to the one above.

I am looking for a schematic for a Dell Optiplex GX280 power supply. The supply is model HP-U2106F3.

I just replaced my GX280 power supply (mini-tower) with the following 400W for $30.

The only place I can think you will find an actual schematic for the PSU is from the manufacturer.

You are going to have to replace it....obviously. Here are some places that popped as having the supply you need. I have never used any of them personally.

Dell Optiplex G110 power supply unit replacement

Yes you can replace the old defective power supply with the new atx but the problem is the size. It the size it fit to your computer nothing to worry because power supply now is almost the same output only the wattages changes.
