SOURCE: kitchen aid coffee pot says error 2

An ERR 2 may be cleared by a simple reset of the coffee maker. This means unplugging the unit and plugging it back in. When powered back on, select a brew function to see if the error reappears.

If it does, ERR 2 indicates an internal error with the computer of the warming plate. This may be covered under Kitchenaid's 1 Year Hassle Free Warranty. I would advise you to call Kitchenaid Customer Service to see what options are available to you. Repair is not recommended, as it is not cost effective for the company or the consumer.

Their toll-free telephone number is 1-800-541-6390.

SOURCE: operating manual for kitchen aid coffee machine

Manuals and guides may be located online at KITCHENAID.COM.

In the upper-right hand corner of the site, click on CUSTOMER CARE and then click on LOCATE MANUALS AND GUIDES.

It will then ask you for your model number.

For a coffee maker, the model number is located on a white sticker underneath the machine.

On the website, type in your model number exactly as it appears on this sticker and click GO.

This will then bring up the literature listing for your particular unit. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view the files.

Also, Kitchenaid Customer Service will send you a physical copy of an instruction manual at no charge if you choose to call them. Their toll-free telephone number is:

1.800.541.6390.

Replacement Carafe for KCM300?

Hello, Diana -

I hope I am correct in thinking yours is a Kitchen Aid model of coffee makers.

If you reside in the USA and if you have not already contacted the KitchenAid company, then this is the the web page with KitchenAid contact information:
https://www.kitchenaid.com/service-and-support.html

You can ask about where to purchase a replacement carafe for your model of KitchenAid coffee maker.

Best wishes.

Coffee maker

This model of coffee maker has an adjustable heating element beneath the carafe - ensure the temperature setting for the carafe is high enough to keep the coffee hot.

If the coffee is not brewing hot, the initial heating element/coil may have failed. Removal of the heating element is somewhat problematic and will require disassembly of the water container and base of the coffeemaker, and will likely need to replace the heating coil contained in a plastic sheath. Ensure you take a look at: http://home.howstuffworks.com/coffee-maker2.htm
for further detail.

Kitchen aid proline coffee make not getting any power. have checked outlets.

There are (I think) three possibilities:
1. There is a fuse inside the unit.
2. The water heating element has a thermal fuse that has failed as a result of overheating (no water in the reservoir at some point)
3. The control panel has failed or the low-voltage power supply that powers the control panel has failed.

My guess would be #2. This is a readily available part (electronic supply stores) but not easy to replace (unit disassembly can be quite challenging). If you're handy, give it a try. The thermal fuse will be wired directly across the terminals of the water heating element. It will have very low resistance (~1 ohm) if it is good.

Heating element

there is a number on the heating element, the model of your toaster oven should be on the backside of the unit itself, armed with this info, you should be able to find a replacement element

I push the start button (the one with the red light) and the light turns on, but then nothing happens. (Yes, I had water in the tank and coffee in the filter part.) Usually, I push the button, the light...

Sounds like there an issue with the heating element. When the element goes bad it wont pull any water from the tank nor will it heat the water sending it up through the shower head and onto the beans. Unfortunately, since Braun has discontinued ALL kitchen appliances here in the US many of the parts are obsolete including the heating element for this machine.

Error 2-Unit will not heat or brew. Stopped in middle of brewing cycle and flashed error 3 code. After unplugging unie and plugging back in an error 2 remains.

Error message 2 is a result of the water heating element burning out. The element is replaceable, if you can find a vendor who sells the element assembly. Price of a new element may be more that a new pot though, if you're lucky enough to find a parts vendor that sells one.

Same ERR2 message

the error refers to a faulty motherboard or heating element. There is no fix but Kitchen Aid has been replacing this defective model but if you decide to go for another model fine

There might be a crack in the element, or the machine might draw more than 20 amps when heating. Check the label for the wattage, multiply that by the voltage and multiply the result by 1.25, that should give you the amperage needed.
