First be sure to check the drivers for your
Netgear WG111 are up to date and correspond to your Operating System. It is important to note that there are three versions of the WG111. If you visit the
Netgear's Knowledge Base site you can see the difference between the 3 versions (v1,v2 and v3) and select the one that corresponds to you. If you don't know what version you have look for a v1, v2 or v3 after the model name:
After you determine which version you have, let suppose its v3, click the link corresponding to it and download the
Software Version 2.0.0 (Supports Win 7) if you are using Windows or the
WG111v3 Mac OS Driver Version 1.0.0.0 if you are using a Mac. Once you download the file, run the executable file and install the driver/software for your device.
If your problem is not with drivers then youshould look at you Wireless Network Setup. Please Check that the router has a source of a working internetconnection plugged in correctly via an ethernet cable. Also, routers need fromtime to time to be rebooted. Try disconnecting the router from the power sourcefor 15 to 10 seconds and connect it again.
Post more details concerning your OS, the router you are using and what type ofinternet
connection you have(DSL or Cable).
The problem has been solved: It was an IP problem. A friend suggested disconnecting the Modem, Router and turning off all PCs. Then, in sequence, turn on the Modem, the Router, then the PCs. This worked, as simple as it sounds. As many times as I had turned off the Modem and router I had always left my PC on while I was doing it.
Thank all of you who were trying to help.
