Frigidaire model #FRS26HF5AW5. the freezer works and the frige side freezes everything, also the ice and water lines are frozen. All fans and compressor function.
The internal heater of the unit is not functioning and the defrost system allso check the mechanical timer of the defrost or if the unit does not have a mechanical timer it is build in in the PC board change hte PC board then it will go back to normal

(There is a defrost heater on the evaporator in that area.If
you have a VOM you could check it with the power plug pulled out of the wall socket)
if you access the area turn the defrost timer on (clockwise)it should get warm in that area and you shoud hear a popping sound

take all the bottom shelves and baskets out of the freezer. look at the back wall of the freezer. youll see a block of ice in a metal pan looking part at the bottom of the rear panel. there is a hole in the bottom of that pan. thats the defrost drain. its clogged. use a hair dryer to get all the ice out then use hot water to flush out the drain hole.

Check to make sure that the damper between the freezer and fridge is not broken or frozen open. Make sure that you shut off the water supply to the fridge until you get this fixed because the line could crack and then you could flood the house.

hi tanks for the question there are heaters at the spots you said were hot and those heaters are there to prevent moist air from hitting cold surface and create warer droplets from forming on those surfaces i would remove the back of the fridge and vacuum it out that should solve your problem thanks the appliance doc

I'm dealing with the same problem right now with the same refrigerator. The cold water tank (for the front dispenser) has a hole in it that leaks every time someone dispenses water from the front door. You will find the water tank behind the top slide-out drawer in the fridge. The leaked water flows down one of the water tubes through a hole in the bottom of the fridge and onto the floor. I'll bet you have the same problem. Good Luck.
