I have a python sst car alarm

First you need to tell us what car you connecting the alarm to. But google the car and where the wire locations are for alarm hook up.

A 7701P is a remote transmitter. It is not an alarm. You must know the alarm's model because different models have various ways of programming transmitters. In other words, you do not program the 7701P. The frequency is already fixed. You must program your security system to teach it that transmitter's code. Look up the manual for your security system. Instructions will be there. This typically involves turning the ignition on/off a specific number of times and pressing a valet/programming button (or switch) a certain number of times and then pressing a button on the transmitter.

Where is the valet button located on the unit?

The valet switch/programming button is incorporated into the antenna on the windshield.

I believe you press the lock and unlock at the same time.

unlock car via remote Push and hold F button for about 8 seconds until it says setup remote on the screen Use the aux and remote start buttons to scroll to CLOCK and then use the F button to access menu.

Do you have the alarm's remote fobs? If not do you know where the valet button lives? It's a little black button hid somewhere under the dash. Anyway put your key in ignition turn key to "run" position and within 5 seconds push the valet button and that should stop the alarm and allow you to start the vehicle. OK after you get the vehicle started turn it off and hit the valet button again. The blinking LED should be solid not blinking and that's telling you your in valet mode which means the alarm is off, the conviencince features like keyless entry and remote start will still work but the alarm is standing down.

Its going to be either the wires going to the locks or the programming in the alarm. The only way to tell is to get the wiring tested. A plug could have just pulled out also. Do many variances for one straight answer.
