Make sure your SAP button is not turned on. This will give you a no audio condition when watching broadcasts thru the tuner. If this doesn't help then your tuner could be defective.

SOURCE: no pic, no sound

Hey Wilt: We had the same problem, for the same model of Toshiba TV. Had it repaired yesterday. Turns out the problem was the power supply (P.C.B). The total cost was $192.66 Canadian funds (taxes and labour all in). Our model was 6 years old, buts its playing like a brand new unit now. Hope this helped ...... Good luck

SOURCE: Channel Reception

It sounds like a defective tuner or a IF module as well. It may also be a defective capacitor(s) or cold solder joints inside the tuner circuitry. I woud suggest to use a VCR or a TV convertor connected to an Audio/video input to change channels instead of fixing it.
Good Luck.

SOURCE: PICTURE AND SOUND KEEP GOING OUT AND COME BACK FOR 30 SECONDS

One of the power supply areas are most likely going intermittent. This can be from cold solder connections on the circuit boards, or from some components failing due to age.

An experienced tech should be able to service your set, but it will be expensive for the time involved. Sometimes these types of faults can be very time consuming to resolve.

The picture goes out on the TV but the sound still works. If I turn it off and then back on, it usually works OK for a while then does it all over again. I took it into a shop and they said that it was...

He was wrong... HDMI is just an audio/video format for high quality video and sound. That cable also contains the sound that goes with the picture. If it has sound but the picture is not there then the HDMI cable is probably OK. A simple way to trouble shoot that is to use a different input. For example Component Video. You will need a different cable for that. It only contains the picture (three wires), then change the input to component video. That's a menu setup. If that restores normal operation then your video is just fine and probably the HDMI cable is fine. The trouble may be in the connections behind the jack on your TV.
They are subject to mechanical stress when the plug is inserted and removed. They should be fine but if the connections weren't perfect from the factory they can cause microscopic cracks that will show as things like no video or intermittent video. You can bypass that connector by using a different audio/video input. If that fixes the problem then leave it that way. If it doesn't it's still likely to be a cracked soldered connection but elsewhere in the set.

I HAVE SAA7130 TV CARD ....if sound is clear than pic is not clear...if i clear pic from fine tune sound become unrecognized

U should check the line in volume. go to control panel-sound and audio-recording devices-line in properties-and then unmute from here. If already unmuted then check out that ur microphone properties has enable listen audio on ur speakers.

If the problem remain the same then remove previous driver and software and then

All of a sudden, no sound on PS3, great pic though. Using HDMI cable...have checked all connections, reset PS3, etc. Still no sound! Guy from Sony said my HDMI cable(Monster) could be bad?! No sound, but...

I agree with the guy from Sony, the reason for this is the HDMI cable should support the transfer of audio and video over the same cable, if your only getting video over it, the cable could be defective, or its possible that you have another cable in the spot where speakers should go that is over riding the HDMI.

What exactly is the HDMI cable plugged into? Is it direct from TV to PS3?
If you have a stereo set lying around that supports HDMI - try having it run through that.
Is the TV muted? check if you can get sound while watching normal TV channels.
Worst comes to worst, use RCA Plugs remembering that the composite video is (yellow) and stereo audio is (white and red). You don't need to connect the composite video, but connect the stereo audio.

If this did not solve the problem, please leave a comment and I'll get back to you once I can =)
