Re: acer 19167W flat screen
Depending on the application you are viewing the picture in you can shrink the application window. You could reduce the size of the viewable area but that defeats the purpose of the wide screen which is to provide a better viewing experience (to quote the marketing types). It sounds like....since the wider screen really has nothing to do with your picture size....you might want to adjust your picture size independent of screens and applications. There are a variety of free products out there that can do this...and some are really nifty...perhaps better than the software you might now be using.

change the resolution on the pc to 1024 x 1024 and then increase one size bigger each time till you find the correct one. Click start > control Panel > display settings then click settings change it in there (XP)
hi there, i don't know your TV brand but this could be of help anyway. there is an adjustment for horizontal and vertical width. you can manually adjust the setting until it fits the picture on the screen. for standard TV it has trimmer in the CRT board. If in your case you have a soft adjustment in the remote control try to adjust it. Learn how the menu works just look for the picture adjustment. Good luck, please rate and vote.
hi, your monitors horizontal deflection side have some problem. you have to check the horizontal width cotrolling transistor mounded on the aluminum heatsik near the lot( line output transistor). also check the three mosfets which adjust the width for different resolutions. there are three such mosfets in the horizontal section.
fist of all replace the width controlling transistor in the heat sink. photo of mosfet and transistor is added for reference. not the exact number. ok
You need to set the PC video resolution to 1600 x 900 for proper 16:9 wide screen format. But if your pictures that you taken with your camera were not 16:9, IE 4 X 5 then it will be stretched side way to fill the screen.
Your resolution may be set to high on the computer. Or you have a standard screen resolution set and since the monitor is a wide screen, it is cutting it off. Try a different resolution 1440x900 is what the va1930wm uses. If using a laptop with a standard type screen on it, you may have to set the laptop to just light the monitor to allow this setting to take. Since this monitor is a wide screen, it may have options in the menu to stretch or zoom on an image if the resolution is not set to a wide screen format.
Can't you set/adjust that on menu settings? If not, and no adjustable knob inside for width adjustment. You are now dealing its adjustment with MCU, or its eeprom ic. Check its required power supply it should be within spec. Better to have an schematic if you deals within its electronics parts.
you might be getting more supply from regulated power supply if you get wide pictureor width have to be adjusted by width control.
but if it stretchs out & lose some of the picture on the right and left edges it might be due to horizontal output section.
1 loose contact in connector.
2 some capacitor might be defective in h/section
please do not open the set unless you know about high voltage in tv set.
