check the fuses for the fuel pump then if its good check the wiring for the system.there is also a pump relay in the system to check,if there is no power to the tank unit then changing the pump is not going to fix the problem.
I recommend you purchase a wiring harness. You can order one specific to your vehicle. This will take the guess work out of what wire is which. Hope this helps.
If you don't know what you're doing, you're much better off taking it to a shop. You can do untold damage to the car, even setting off the air bag, if you don't know what to do in there, particularly if you don't have the right tools.
Don't hold me to this answer because I really don't know but I think they are 16 ga wires. So many wires these days are small gauge wires with thick insulation it's difficult to tell.
