If your data is stored in Windows based memory card then you can try this RecoveryFix for Windows data recovery software. You can download this software from here:

STOP
do not write anything to your camcorder's removable memory stick, otherwise you willt re-write the files and permanently lose your videos and pictures.
Install this recovery software called Tenorshare Data Recovery.
From inside the software,navigate/choose your memory stick letter( "D", "F", "G" ... ? ) and scan the section where it says "Deleted Recovery" . Scan the memory stick and Set the destination folder(folder where recovered files will be saved) somewhere on your computer.
BTW, you can get this recovery software from
Photo Recovery Software for Windows

Photo Recovery Software for Mac
It will show you thumbnails for your pictures that it found on your memory stick.
WARNING:there will be lots of recovered files,do not set the destination folder as your DESKTOP,otherwise you'll end up having 100000 files on your desktop... = total mess :)

CORRUPT FILES IN SONY CAMCORDER

Digital camera is used for storing the precious pictures and images that we click to capture the beautiful moments shared with our closed ones. When anything happens wrong with the camera, pictures may suddenly get inaccessible. Users become unable to access or open those stored pictures and need to employ some recovery mechanism to retrieve them. Kernel for windows data recovery software is used for performing photo recovery from the digital device.

Have you tried simply renaming the files to .avi extension and see if they can be opened/played?
Data recovery software tries to identify the file type, but does not always get it right...

I had the same exact problem... then someone told me the fix... you have to "empty trash" on your computer (when the camcorder is plugged into your USB) - this will "empty" the trash on your computer, but also empty on your flip too...

I guess what happens when you delete all files from the "100 Video" file is that your camcorder moves all files into its own "trash" (on the device) - so the camera "shows" that there are no videos, but in reality, they are still on the flash memory on the device..

hope this makes sense and works for you.
