A regular DVD player will not play a FLASH slideshow. Not natively anyways. Some will, most will not.

The only way to do it, is to save it to a video. Then burn to a CD or DVD as video.

a VCD for CD
a DVD for DVD.

I use a cd - and it burns to it. If you go into more options, click cd/dvd - and I just use a HP CD-R 52x - works fine when the program works! :) It burns right to the cd - to view on tv.

My DVD Slideshow will only play on my PC.

To play on a dvd player the files must have an extension the dvd player understands i.e. .avi, .mpg4, .mvk etc.

Do I need cdrw or dvd to burn a slideshow?

You need a blank CD or DVD to burn any time onto disc. Just depends on size of data. 700MB for CD and 4.7 GB on DVD. The WR is for rewritable disks.

Dvd burning

You don't need to format it. You need a DVD writer and a Software for burning DVDs:

Cannot get it onto DVD

Yes, use DVD+R. Make sure that you choose the correct options: After clicking on "Produce" and then "Burn to disc", take a look at the window that appears. One of the choices: you can either burn to hard drive or to the writer drive. Chose your writer drive and continue. Also, SlideShow Expressions can develop problems when a project is too big or when the photos are too large. What typically happens, is that the burning process stops at step 5 (the actual burning) and does'nt want to continue. If this is the case, experiment with photo size. I used Microsoft Office Picture Manager to resize photos. Resizing doesn't necessarily reduce the quality of the photos. There is really no visual difference between my original photos and those that feature in my slideshows. In my case I had to resize to under 500 KB, but then, my project was extremely large: 466 photos; maybe you don't have to go so low. Experiment with sizes. Don't give up; it's a really great product.

The trial side show program i downloaded will not burn the side show to dvd

The trial version will only allow you to burn up to 36 pictures.
Your slide show probably exceeded this limit. Once you are satisfied with using it (under the limit) you can purchase the full product and receive a registration and be able to have an almost full disc of pictures in your slideshow.

I want to download photographs from my computer to DVD and play back on a Toshiba DVD player Model SD-130ESB1. Which type of blank DVD should I use and are there any special formatting requirements?

First off you should check in your dvd manual what formats it accepts.

Then on your computer use a good photo burning program such as nero.
There are other programs as well that will make up a photoshow cd/dvd.

As with all burning spftware make sure that if there is an option to close the session this is turned on otherwise you may not be able to use it in a regular dvd player
