Nine times out of ten, any problem with an amp having no sound coming out, it's a wiring issue. Make sure all of the wires internal to the amp are propely hooked up. Also, try switching out the quarter inch cord you are using from your guitar to your amp. Could be a bad cable. Unless you have blown the speaker completely, something is loose or not hooked up properly.

Amp not comming on until strings played hard.

Check your cables - I've had similar problems with various amps playing various guitars; the guitar electronics and the amp electronics are fine, but the cable is damaged internally and this causes the same problems as you have described. Have you tried using a different cable? Buy a different one, try it out, and see if you have the same problem. If you have a friend who plays, let them plug their cable and guitar in the amp - if it works, your faulty cable is the issue. Hope that helps!

This bass squels if you have a bass head and cabinet. i had a 100W amp and it played fine then upgraded to a head/cab. tryed playing it with loud volume, squels. anyway to fix this?

Turn down the treble gain and mid gain... you don't need it for a bass. Prevent the guitar from "hearing" the output of the amp directly. The guitar strings make a good microphone.

D10sce will not work when plugged into the amp. the cord is nine ( works with my electric.) battery is new. when you turn up the volume on the controll, you can hear it in the amp, just no pick up sound.t

SUBSTITUTE Change the guitar for a friends to see if the amp is really OK. Try your guitar in a friends amp to see if the guitar is OK If the guitar is at fault its either the battery, the connection cord, the little pre amp in the guitar body (you can't fix that) or you have put nylon strings on the guitar which needs stell strings for the pickup to work. Good luck

My Rocker 30 has been working just fine up until now. I go to turn on the amp and I get no sound whatsoever. The tubes and ht fuse are fine. I've looked at some forums online and they say the fuse might be...

Apparently you have tested the tubes on a tester and usually there is a pilot light that would not be lit if fuse was blown.

Common problems are bad jacks and switch contacts on power amp INPUT or INSERT jacks. Also circuit board cracks and bad solder joints are fairly common, especially where volume controls attach to the circuit boards.

More expensive things are things like fried speaker if volume was played too loud. An ohmmeter test of the speaker would tell if the voice coil has blown.

My line 6 spider III 15 watt amp isnt working properly. i turn it on but i get this sound when its connected to the guitar. it sounds like when a guitar is not connected to a guitar and the guitar cable is...

While it could be true that you're having a problem with the guitar or cable as the previouse expert suggested, to say that it can't be anything else is false. It could be a jack problem...it would only be apparant when the jack is making contact with a cable. I do think you should test it with another guitar and another cable but if that is not solving the problem then I bet it's a problem with the input jack of the amo itself or even one of the ionternal components (this is a digital amp and there are MANY components and settings that can trigger a problem like this) If the problem is not solved with a new cable/guitar configuration then it's time to take it to the shop.

No sound

You would NOT use a stereo cable to plug in your guitar.

The stereo cable would carry the battery voltage back to the amp and MAYBE cause the fuse to blow.

You use a MONO instrument cable for your guitar.

The ring connection is use to complete the circuit to turn on the battery in most guitars.

Replace the fuse ONCE and get the proper instrument cable (NOT consumer audio cable) for your guitar.

If fuse blows again, take amp to shop for service.

My son's guitar amp Epiphone guitar amplifier model ep-800, does not work after someone plugged a bass guitar on high settings. He tried it the next day, only to find out it didn't work. Could the bass...

it could have blown the speaker, a regular guitar amp is not meant to handle a bass, you should be able to look into the back of the amp and see if any of the speaker is damaged, or there may be a blown fuse inside the amp, if you check for this please MAKE SURE TO UNPLUG THE AMP FROM THE POWER SOURCE FIRST, and if needed replace the fuse with the exact same type
