I have a sharp R-2130JS smart carousel microwave that needs a new inverter board. The licensed home appliance repair shop recommended by Sharp wants $220 to replace it. I can get the part from Sharp for $76.95. Anyone know how to replace it?
I do not know how to specifically replace the "inverter board" in this model. On most microwaves I've repaired, though, the hardest part is getting them dismounted from the wall if they are rangehood models. I suspect that the inverter board is held onto the chassis with two phillips screws, and all the connections thereto are modular and therefore easily disconnectable and swapped out. The great majority of times, manuafactureres do NOT put multiple connectors of the same pin count and oriention on a circuit board. Give it a go.
