The burner will light but only stays on for about a minute. When it goes off, three lights on the control box come on in this code: the first green light (labeled warm) and A and B

Wiring error
Check outlet polarity using circuit analyzer.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Troubleshoot-household-electricity.html#polarity
Check that outlet is fully grounded.
Check that ground wire has continuity to manifold tube (largest tube connected to bottom of gas control valve)

SOURCE: The pilot light & will stay lit. untill the burner cycles on/off
MAKE SURE THE BURNER TUBE AND ORIFICES ARE CLEAN. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE PROPER LP PRESSURE.
SOURCE: AO Smith Burner Issues
This system uses an electrical test to make sure that the burner is lit. The flame sensor will either be broken or will be covered in deposits (clean with an emery cloth).
The flame sensor is usually a small metal rod that would be in the direct line of fire of the burner with 1 wire attached.
CAUTION:
The ignitors can be very fragile and are expensive. They are very brittle, do not touch it.
SOURCE: no hot water, control board light stays green
It may be bad thermostat terminals of the water heater, or, alternatively, the very top heating element is in need of replacement. See this handy diagnostic article for more info:

Hope this helps.

SOURCE: burner lites but goes out after 2 or 3 min.
the white rodgers gas control needs to be replaced;
the way it works is: the thermocouple opens the pilot gas circuit and, holds it open
when it heats up by creating a magnetic field in the gas control then: when you turn
the knob on the gas control to "on" a valve inside the gas valve opens the main gas circuit and, electricity supplied by your RV keeps it open.
the main gas coil inside the gas valve is defective and, can not hold the main gas circuit to the burner open anymore.

This sounds like a possible gas pressure problem. Is your heater L.P. or nat? Either way I would check incoming gas pressure. There is a test port on the gas valve for this purpose. Natural gas should be at least 4 inch w.c. and L.P. at 7 inch w.c.. Also shut off supply valve on gas line to water heater and disconnect piping to inlet on gas valve. There should be a fine mesh screen at inlet port. Make sure it is clean. If you have any copper piping on gas service line with natural gas it needs to be replaced as nat. gas deteriorates copper tubing causing small flakes to seperate from inside of piping which can block inlet screen..If everything checks out there I would go ahead and install a new thermocouple. If that doesn't help about all you have left is the gas valve. If your heater is less then six years old and you determine the gas valve is the problem contact Rheem for warranty replacement parts. If you still have owners manual there should be a toll free number to call. Some times this number is on the water heater itself. For warranty work you will need model and serial number off the heater. I hope this helps you. Thanks
