My Maxtor OneTouch 4 Mini 160GB External USB 2.0 Hard Drive fell yesterday and is not working.Can i fix it? No vibration from hard disk or the laptop doesnt take it up at all..plz help

Hmmm What software do you need?
You should not need software to run the HDD. Just plug it in.
You can get the One Touch software from Seagate (who no own Maxtor) See

My maxtor onetouch 4 mini 160gb didnot open help me
If it still has a valid warranty, exercise the warranty to get a free replacement.

Otherwise, open the enclosure, and separate the disk-drive from the USB-to-disk-drive adapter, and connect the disk-drive as a 'slave' disk-drive in a desktop computer, to see if the adapter was the problem.

Any computer i connect to it is not accessing the data, but it recognizes that it is there. I just want it on long enough to move data to my computer.
you have to "mount" the hard drive..... search that terms out in conjunction with your operating system name and you should be okay

Broke external hard drive
It depends on how badly bent it is. If you're stable with your hands, and can use a small nail to pry the deformed peice straight, do so carefully. If however you absolutely need to save the data on the drive and can't afford to have the bent peice fully break off, take it to your local computer repair store and they should be able to replace the connection.
