Line faults & possible causes to both Plasma & LCD screen are given with illustrations. You can get an idea about the fault to an extent. Faults to all LCD screen are similar, irrespective of its brand and screen size.
Try changing the input device to something you are sure works. Switch off TV manually, switch off power, remove plug and retry after 48 hours. If problem persists, please refer it to a qualified service technician.

On al the plasma tvs there are control boards on the lower part of the screen that control the vertical images. If one of the chips on one of the boards fail, have a bad connection, or no ground it will result in a thick black lne down the screen. Seeing as the tv is new I would get the warrantee repair on it. There is a possibility that there is a problem with the screen itself but more than likely its the boards.
I want to know the possible cause of tv with 2 black line at the top and bottom of the screen. Is it have the same causes even if the tv model is not the same..thanks
