Error message says "There is not enough memory to complete this task. Delete mail messages or other items on your device and try again." I've cleaned out the mailboxes. It still doesn't work. I've gone to the manual for instructions to delete applications, but I don't have "application" on the home page. What to do?
Ask HP yet?

Is this a "stock" email program shipped with your Palm Treo?
Try to DELETE programs / Apps you don't use or need... ESPECIALLY those Apps that "auto-start" and eat up memory needlessly! *Note that some Apps are mandatory and when and if you delete them your OS / mfg will reinstall the apps they THINK you need.
IF you've added a additional App for your email service, some are poorly written and eat up bunches of memory ~ even when it's in standby waiting for new messages.
As a last resort, DELETE your email program and reinstall it with the latest version you can find that is compatible with your Treo.

Updated Instructions Simple fix for a corrupted Date Book sync error (at least it worked for me on my Treo 650). 1). Turn off 'Show Calendar Event' in the Phones 'Options - General Preferences' menu. 2). Turn off phone. 3). Set the Date/Time to the maximum limits (12/31/31) in Preferences. 4). Open the Calendar and view the maximum day 12/31/31. 5). Select 'Purge - (Delete events older then 1 week)' in the Calendars Options menu. 6). Reset the Date/Time to the current day in Preferences. 7). Hotsync (Desktop Calendar overwrites handheld). 8). Hotsync again to make sure you don’t get the error (Synchronize the files). That’s it. =============================== Outlook Calendar The attempt to open the database failed. Date Book application database is not found. Please invoke the Date Book application on the handheld once and re-synchronize. I was ready to give up completely. Uninstalled, reinstalled, nothing worked. Here is what I did to resolve sync errors: 1. Perform a hard reset on the Palm 2. Go to the Palmone folder on your hard drive (C:\Program Files|PalmOne. Look for the Backup folder. Rename this folder Backup Old. 3. Connect the Treo to your computer. 4. Right click the Hotsync icon in the taskbar and click Custom. Change the four Outlook conduits (Calendar, Contacts,Tasks,Memos) to Desktop overwrites Handheld. 5. Run a Hotsync with the Treo. It should sync without errors. If you need to install additional applications you can add them now. This worked for me. I hope it helps with your errors.

Well, I still don't know what happened, but things seem to be fixed. Just in case anyone else runs into this problem, here's what happened: Initial problem (recap): - on first HotSync after setting Quick Install to install the LifeDrive Update 1.0, the log showed the following error messages: Handheld Tasks application database version not supported. Handheld Notes application database version not supported. (Update 1.0 was installed successfully.) - after HotSync, all contacts, calendar data, tasks, and memos (i.e. all data synchronized with Outlook) were gone from the LifeDrive - subsequent HotSyncs produced the same error messages and did not restore data. Next day: - fresh HotSync synchonized other data, but not Outook data, HOWEVER - no error messages appeared this time (don't know what changed - neither PC nor handheld had been rebooted in the mean time) - used HotSync setup in Palm Desktop to set Desktop to overwrite Handheld for all Outlook data - it worked. Outlook data restored on Handheld. I don't understand what happened, but at least it was easier than doing a hard reset and then restoring everything.

if using verizon go into the wireless sync application and select settings> connection> advanced settings> and select enable other sync apps.

Turn off the device then turn it back on. that should solve the problem. normally this is because a program on the Palm is still associated with that picture. turning it off and on severs that association.
I hope this has answered your question sufficiently. If you have more questions please post a reply and i would be happy to assist. Thanks.
