If your Bath Pump will not shut off when you push the Air Button, it sounds as if the Air Switch is not working in your Bath Pump.
Click on the Air Switch name and it will show you the replacement part you need to fix the Bath Pump.

My ITT Magna pump LD7AC pressure switch will not stay on or keep jets running. Whats the fix?

The ITT Magna pump LD7AC pressure switch is used to control the pressure in a water system. If the pressure switch is not staying on or the jets are not running, it could indicate a problem with the pressure switch or the water system. Here are some potential solutions to try:
  1. Check the air pressure: Make sure that the air pressure in the pressure tank is set correctly. If the air pressure is too low, the switch may not stay on.
  2. Check the pressure switch: Make sure that the pressure switch is properly adjusted and not damaged. The switch should be adjusted to turn on at the correct pressure and turn off at a slightly lower pressure.
  3. Check the water system: Make sure that the water system is not losing pressure. This could be due to a leak in the system or a clogged water filter.
  4. Check the electrical connections: Make sure that the electrical connections are secure and not corroded. Loose or corroded connections can cause the switch to malfunction.
If these solutions do not resolve the issue, it may be necessary to seek professional assistance to diagnose and repair the problem. A qualified technician will be able to diagnose the issue and repair the pump or pressure switch as necessary.

How to repace switch button

Air Switch Repair
It sounds like you have a bad air switch located in your motor.
The air switch is what the air hose connects to on the back of the motor or on the box on top of the motor.
The other end of the air hose is connected to the air button on the lip of the tub.
This is a latching air switch and when you push the air button it latches and sends the power to the motor.
When the air button is pushed again it opens the latch in the air switch and stops power going to the motor shutting it off.

Model number LD 5MC-C

The pump you are looking for is not made anymore. The Air Switch version is still available.
You will need the replacement pump, an air button and some air tubing
to make the new system work for you.
You can find this and bathpartsplus, com under their bath pump section.

well, the eyeball and cage assembly you refer to here has nothing to do with the pump turning on and off.

If your bath pump LD7A-C will not shut off when you push the air button then the AIR SWITCH in the motor needs to be replaced.
This is a pretty common problem with Bath Pumps and easily fixed.

Whirlpool Pump - Hums, no water flow...

The impeller and/or motor shaft is stuck or seized. If accessible you can try rotating the motor shaft with a visegrip plier or similar tool to see if it will come lose. Otherwise you should consider having the pump taken out and overhauled. Often the shaft seal begins leaking and result in water damage to the motor bearings. Bearings can be replaced, but compare labor and parts for overhaul to simply replacing the whole pump.
