READ what it says. IT DOES NOT SAY touch screen. IT SAYS touch circle. THEN you need to touch the crosses.

My google play icon is missing off tablet.

Go to the screen with all the apps, and the app will be listed there. Simply tap and hold until the tablet vibrates and the home screen shows up, and then place it where you want it.

Another way would be to tap and hold on the screen. Some tablets and phones will have the app/widget/wallpaper options show up at the bottom of the screen. If this does appear with your devise, then just make sure the apps tab is selected, find the play store app and tap it once. it will transfer to the screen for you.

Nextbook 8 SE touch screen not as sensitive, have to tap items twice

It might need calibration. There is usually a setting in the display to calibrate the screen. Follow the instructions and see if it helps.

Ello My problem is when i boot after a factory reset i have touchscreen to calibrate and when i do it it gives me try once again it's stuck there

I am not sure you are talking about a tablet PC or the new craze of tablets.
For the tablet PC you should have a screen calibration utility. You can calibrate the display for the Wacom (or other) pen, or for the touch input.
When you calibrate the pen, any touching of the screen with anything other that the Wacom pen will be ignored.
Similarly, when you calibrate the touch, any input with the Wacom pen will be ignored and you will be asked to use the proper instrument.

To get back to your case , it is possible that you are not putting the finger at the right place or not pressing hard enough. That is just a guess and I may be off the mark for the new tablets, but not for the Tablets PC:

How do i get the pen an tablet to calibrate

Assuming you are running Windows XP Tablet Edition:
Go to Control Panel Select Tablet and Pen Settings Tap the Calibrate Button
Follow the instructions.
There should be a similar Tablet control in the Control Panel for other versions of Windows.

Velocity Micro Cruz ereader screen freezes. The "desktop" icons are not reacting to touch or tapping.

Mine hasn't frozen (yet) but if this is a more or less "permanent" freeze there is a reset pinhole between the power button and the usb connector. If this is in intermittent problem, the only thing I can say is that the device is poorly designed, the screen is just not very responsive and the CPU chip must be under-powered so it is very slow to react. If you tap-tap-tap a lot on the screen or the power button you might be overloading the CPU. Mine seems to freeze from time to time but eventually "catches up" and then starts working again. Sorry, but I definitely put this product only a half step above the junk category. I also own an Ipod Touch and holy cow there is a world of difference in quality and performance between the two.

Oh yeah - you might try calibrating the screen but I doubt that it will help much. The "calibration" suggestion really seems like more of a distraction tactic to make new owners think they are really doing something cool to make it work better out of the box.

If you can still return the machine for a refund I suggest you do - lots of new tablets andf "readers" will be hitting the stores within a few weeks and Best Buy will be selling these for $50 just to unload them!

Screen rotates, pen doesn't

Is it maybe possible it is a hardware prob? maybe the directional sensor in the tablet was displadced.

BTW i have the same tablet and need an harddrive replacement/upgrade, how did you manage to do that? what kind of drive and where to buy? Viewsonic seems not so eager to help me out with that.

Best,

Fredrik
