I have checked the thermostat, it is OK, I have looked at the control board it is OK with some high heat marks near the 2 W resistors. Machine cycles fine thru all phases of washing and rinsing.

do they flash lik all on one side then the other? Start a cycle, then open the door. Do the lights flash the same way when you open the door as when it stops? if soyou may have a door that needs to be adjusted so it closes better. when the cycle ends, is there any standing water in the bottom? if so you may have a poorly routed drain hose or a partial clog in it. Last, pull the bottom panels off and look inside the bottom of the dishwasher and see if there is standing water down there . If ther is you have aleak somewhere or a bad drain pump. You r only other choice is a bad pressure switch. If youve already adjusted the water fil to the proper level ( just up to the grey plastic housing that the lower wash arm sits on) tehre really aernt any more options. Hope this helps!

it may be a heating problem, does it get hot at all, or over heat.may be a thermistor fault.remove the door skin and see if rinse aid has leaked onto the wiring.or the board itself cauld be faulty, but are very expensive.hope this helps.

This is most likely an issue with the timer. Timers
don't often fail. But if every other part of the dishwasher seems to be
working properly and the timer knob seems to be stuck in one
place--doing one function continuously--the timer may be at fault.
Dishwasher timers can't be repaired. If yours is defective, replace it. Best bet is to call in a repair man to run a few tests and zccurately diagnose the cause.
However, considering that your machine is 8 years old and you've already got it repaired once, my honest advice would be to get yourself a new machine, preferably a Whirlpool or Kitchenaid dishwasher. A really, really good and quiet
one will run you about $500. If you want the stainless steel interior
(though, I don’t see the point of this for a residential dishwasher)
it’ll run you a few hundred more.
Asko is not a very reliable machine. (Its a wonder yours lasted all of 8 years!) Their dishwashers are famous in the repairing community as electrical
nightmares – their defining characteristic is spontaneous combustion....you pay twice as much for a dishwasher that breaks down twice as often,
takes twice as long to get parts for, and costs twice as much to repair.
Hope that helps!
SOURCE: ASKO 1885 Built-in Dishwasher: The water
Hi,
Welcome to FixYa.
Based on your description and provided the dishwasher is indeed 1) an Asko 1885 and 2) filling with water, draining, heating, but not circulating, It sounds like a busted wash impeller within the main motor/circulation pump as you mentioned.
First though, do you hear a quiet sound of a motor starting once the unit has completed filling with water ?
( it will be super quiet if the wash impeller is broke as I suspect it may be...almost like a fountain, since the Asko are very quiet under normal conditions. You will have to either get right down with your ear to the bottom or run it with the door open by activating the door switch with a screw-driver and look for visual/audible clues )
If so that is a tell tale of no wash action yet the motor runs, hence broken impeller. If you don't hear anything it may be a wire come off the main motor/circulation pump...but not likely.
This unfortunately is common with Asko built dishwasher`s and it is a case of being a victim of their own design.
What happens typically is the ball-bearings from the upper rack holders ( which are plastic, hence fatigues due to heat and fall apart ) come out making their way into the sump, hence breaking the wash impeller from the motor.
Let me know what you find and I'll try and help you move forward from there. If you need direction to remove the circulation motor and pump I can do that, but it is a pretty involved repair and requires pulling the unit from the cabinet...you may opt to call in a pro.
I'll watch for your reply.
Regards,
Macmarkus :)
