I've only worked on a couple of those, and it was years ago. I'm not familiar enough to give you specific instructions in the removal process, and if the drum is dirty then the drum cleaning blade has failed and needs to be replaced

Check the drum cylinder for a) a clot of fiber inside the corona wire channel; b) a groove worn into the surface of the coating. If those OK then check the fuser (inside at the back). Look for either a dirty fuser sleeve or a shiney track worn through the coating on the fuser. Dirty can be cleaned - shiney cannot be fixed
Hello, first the paper can be dirty in a lot of ways...
i.e.
If you have dark "background"or small black dots, the problem is in developer and it need's to be replaced, or cleaning blade or drum. If you have streaks on copy, the problem can be in drum and cleaning blade or fixing roller. If the copy is too light, the problem can be in dirty optics or bad transfer corona.
There can be a lot of things... better call service for preventive maintenace, they will change all that is needed according the number of copies that machine has.
Sometimes you may see vertical streaks/black lines on the faxes you receive. Either your FAX/MFC's primary corona wire for printing may be dirty, or the sending party's fax scanner may be dirty. Clean your primary corona wire (see pages 13-18), or ask the sender to make a copy to see if the problem is with the sending machine. Cleaning the Drum Unit We recommend you place the drum unit on a drop cloth or large piece of disposable paper to avoid spilling and scattering toner. 1 Carefully turn the drum unit upside down. 2 Clean the primary corona wire inside the drum unit by gently sliding the tab from right to left several times. 3 Return the tab to the Home position ( ) before reinstalling the drum unit.

Close the front cover. 5. Plug in the power cord first, and then plug in the telephone cord. or ask the sender to make a copy to see if the problem is with the sending machine. Try receiving from another fax machine. If the problem continues, call Brother Customer Service at: 1-800-284-4329 (in USA) or 1-877-BROTHER (in Canada).
This can be anything from something on the glass to charge corona dirty, laser dirty, drum or blade or fuser rollers need to be replaced. For the average person, the best you can do yourself is to make sure glass is clean. Question..... do you get this line if you're printing also? If yes then that would eliminate the glass and has to be something inside. If no, then look very carefully at the glass and long skinny glass on top, if it has that, for white out or something on the glass. Sometimes you won't even see spot unless you look at just the right angle. Good luck. Please rate this if it helps.
Does this streaking problem occur when printing (not copying)? If it does then you are probably looking at a consumable issue. Alot of times black streaking is caused by a defective or spent drum. Is your drum new? There is also a blue piece on the drum unit used to clean the corona wire that cleans the drum. Have you tried moving it back and forth several times?
If the problem only happens when copying and the streaks are as bad as you make them out to be then you problem have a bad CIS unit (scans your originals for faxing or copying)
