Just got the Life Cam NX-3000 & the mic doesn't pick up sound.

I had the same problem! This worked for me: open the lifecam program, click settings and lower the resolution. Remember to close the program before trying to use tinychat again. Hope this helps! :)

Are you able to see your own image? If so, it is an issue on their side.

There may be an option in MSN software (under Tools perhaps) that states which microphone and camera to use while using the program.

I would verify it is set to use the correct ones you are wanting to you and see if that works!

Try using a program called SplitCam. Simple program that acts as an interface between webcam and other applications. Often solves the issues like you are facing.

Normal 0 Go to Control Panel and Click on Sounds, Click on Audio, then Click on the Microphone. Then Click on the drop down and select Camera Microphone.
Click OK and it should work.

Normal 0 Try disconnecting the Camera from the USB port and reinstall the software program. When the program asks you to connect the camera to the USB port, do so and it should work.

Normal 0 Did you connect the camera before installing the software program? If you did, disconnect the camera from the USB Port and reinstall the software program. When the program asks you to reconnect the printer, then plug the cable back into the USB port and it should function properly.

the camera has a built in microphone,so after a proper installation you should have the video and mic funtioning.
but in your case, the cam doesn't work, so you have to try first uninstall the driver >> unplug the camera USB port >> then make a restart >> plud the camera back into the usb >> and install the drivers again.
