I'm trying to replace the blade on my mower, but the bolt is stuck. I've tried everything from WD40 to tapping it with a hammer. I'm getting plenty of leverage with the wrench, but it won't budge. Everything I've read says counter-clockwise. Any suggestions?

Sounds like you will need to clean your carburetor.
Sometimes you can get by with priming it a few times, and letting it run a few times like that and it will flush the gunk out of the jets, but most of the time you will need to rebuild the carburetor.
If the mower/weedeater is over a couple years old, then I also recommend that you buy and install a new carburetor repair kit, because the diaphragm will get hard and that will cause it to be hard to crank.
When you clean your carburetor and remove the jet screws, You will first seat the jet screws and count the number of turns it takes to seat the jets from their original position.
That way when you go to put the jets back in, you know how many turns they were in/out.

Good Luck, I hope this helped

no they are not left hand threads if nuts have molded washers you must use an impact gun. wash holds too much of blade surface and will not turn against it

It should be under a rubber boot between the valve cover *(stamped OHV or OHC) and the muffler.
Good luck and be careful. Dont pull that boot when the engine is hot!
SOURCE: mower suddenly stopped. It tries to start but to
When you say "Suddenly", do you mean you hit something and it stopped? If so, then chances are that you broke the timing key. It's designed that way so that you don't bend your crank shaft and ruin your engine. If this is the case, then your crank has spun and your engine is out of time and will not start. Unfortunately, the only way to know for sure is to take it apart and look. To do this you need to remove the fan cover (top of the engine), and then remove the flywheel (you may need a gear puller to get it off). Once the flywheel is off, you'll see a notch in it with a tiny alignment "key" that keeps the flywheel and crank aligned to the spark timing is right. You simply replace that key and put it back together and you'll be walking on sunshine. Remember, I'm only going on the limited info you've provided and that's where your symptoms point to. Best of luck to you and enjoy the holiday.

Trust me. I've been cranking on that bad boy. The blade is locked down and I am putting as much torque on it as I can and it is not budging. Any solutions for unrusting?
