White spots are just emerging on my 50 inch Samsung DLP TV everyday. It started with one two days ago and now there are almost 30, I gueww in two weeks the sreen would be covered.
Help
I too own a 2-year old Samsung HLS4676S DLP TV with same white spot problem as others here described. For 4 weeks now I have been watching about 10-15 spots flicker for a day or two before each becomes permanent. Samsung needs to do the right thing and recall these TVs and preserve their reputation. Until then I too vow never to purchase ANY Samsung branded products.
Same problem for me ... check out this thread on AVSforums about it.
I have the same exact tv as you and had the same problem. I took it to a repair shop who told me I needed a new DMD chip and that it would be 850 to fix. I used the information in thread above to get the part number and bought the chip on ebay for under 200. Here is a link to the listing CHIP
People have had good success. I will be replacing mine tomorrow.

I have the same problem with my 61inch Samsung DLP TV and I had a repair person come out and look at it. Its gonna cost 500$ to fix. Its the DMD chip
I have the same problem with my 2 1/2 yr old 46" set, Started with one white spot a couple weeks ago, now there are over 30. Apparently Samsung DLP sets really ****. There seems to be a lot of problems with this. I cannot afford a big repair bill on such a new set. Samsung needs to make this right for people. I will never purchase or recommend their products to anyone. If thery were a decent manufacturer they would recall these and try to keep customers.
