Windows was writing to a file when the power went off. Now windows files are damaged. I'm assuming you have Windows XP on the machine. Do you have your Windows XP cd?

SOURCE: HP Pavilion a705w PC Desktop\Ethernet Controller driver

obtain the driver from cd/dvd that was included as you purchased your desktop and try to check if the driver supports with the operating system you are using now. for example the driver available in your cd/dvd is only for windows xp and your operating system you are using now is windows vista of course driver not installed. try to download from internet the driver that are suite to your unit model and current operating system this can fixed your problem or else downgrade your os tha can support the driver that are available from your cd/dvd.

SOURCE: getting message ntldr is missing press ctrl alt del

Make sure that there is not any other disk such as a floppy, CD, or USB drive connected that it is trying to boot from. If not then it sounds like the file is corrupt. It is repairable but will take some work.
You can find instructions to repair it at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/318728.
