Outlook Express outmails

I could not receive or send out of my Outlook express.. I reloaded the accounts and now I can receive, but the "server" at comcast is rejecting my outbound emails. My comcast emails work on "their" website, but it's a pain going through 3 different email sign-ins to check them all. Any suggestions? This has happened before and "deleting" and "creating" the accounts again worked. This time, no bananas! Help. Landria

Hello Landria,

Please use smtp.comcast.net as your smtp address.
Some people type smpt instead of smtp (please check it)

also, you need to change your port to 465, instead of 25.

How to receive mails from two yahoo accounts to one place?

Hi Vinay,

You need to configur your microsoft outlook or windows mail or outlook express in such a way that you recive mails from both the account to one inbox. Follow the below steps if you have ms outlook.

Microsoft Outlook Express
Yahoo! Mail users can read their email in Outlook Express by subscribing to the Yahoo! Mail Plus service. This service allows you to use Outlook Express or another POP3 client to access and manage your Yahoo! Mail messages.

Outlook Express allows you to add a new email account to your existing profile. This means you do not have to replace your current settings in order to send and receive Yahoo! Mail messages. Here's how:

1. From the Tools menu, choose "Accounts."
2. Select the "Mail" tab.
3. Click the "Add" button.
4. From the Add menu, click "Mail."
5. In the text box labeled Display Name, type your name and click "Next."
6. In the Email Address box, type your Yahoo! Mail address (be sure to include "@yahoo.com") and click "Next."
7. Under "My incoming mail server is a..." select "POP3."
8. Type "pop.mail.yahoo.com" in the Incoming Mail (POP3, IMAP, or HTTP) Server box.
9. Type "smtp.mail.yahoo.com" in the Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server box.
10. Click "Next."
11. In the Account Name box, type your Yahoo! Mail ID (your email address without the "@yahoo.com").
12. In the Password box, type your Yahoo! Mail password.
13. If you want Outlook Express to remember your password, check the "Remember password" box.
14. Do not check the boxes labeled "Log on using Secure..."
15. Click "Next."
16. Click "Finish."

Important: The Yahoo! Mail SMTP server now requires authentication. To turn this setting on:

1. From the Tools menu, choose "Accounts."
2. Select the "Mail" tab.
3. Double-click the account labeled "pop.mail.yahoo.com."
4. Select the "Servers" tab.
5. Check the box next to "My Server Requires Authentication."
6. Click "OK."

To control deletion of messages from the Yahoo! Mail Server:

1. From the Tools menu, choose "Accounts."
2. Select the "Mail" tab.
3. Double-click the account labeled "pop.mail.yahoo.com."
4. Select the "Advanced" tab.
5. In the Delivery section at the bottom of the window, check "Leave a copy of messages on server" if you want to save your Yahoo! Mail messages on the Yahoo! Mail server as well as on your local computer. Do not check this box if you want your messages to be deleted from the Yahoo! Mail server once you have received them in Outlook Express.

If your ISP blocks port 25 or if you're unable to send email, then you will need to use port 587 when sending via Yahoo!'s SMTP server. To make this change, please follow the directions below:

1. From the "Tools" menu, select "Accounts"
2. Select your Yahoo! POP account and click on the "Properties" button
3. Click on the "Advanced" tab
4. Next to "Outgoing server (SMTP), change port 25 to 587
5. Click "Apply", then click "OK" and "Close"

I can recieve an E Mail But can not send one

Which is ur e-mail client i.e. r u using outlook express or windows mail or windows live mail in order to send & receive emails from ur e-mail Id????
If yes then i think u might not have set the correct address of the SMTP server of ur mail client while configuring windows mail or outlook express or windows live mail on ur notebook-->SMTP server enables u to send e-mails-->anyways follow these steps to set the correct SMTP server address:
open the outlook express or windows mail or windows live mail-->Click on 'tools' option-->then click on the option 'accounts'-->a window will open with a list of accounts or only one account depending on the number of accounts u have configured with outlook express-->select the account from which u can receive mail but cant send one-->if u r not sure which account it is then most likely it would be the default one-->After selecting the particular account click on 'properties'-->properties window will open up-->select the 'servers' tab-->under 'server information' u will find 'outgoing mail(SMTP)'-->fill the proper address of the SMTP-->u will find the proper address of the SMTP server thru google also ensure that u have selected the 'My server requires authentication' checkbox on the 'servers' tab itself-->if u r using gmail then search for the SMTP address of gmail in google & same for the others also such as yahoo, rediff etc.

When i try to ger outlook express to work it won't

In the Outlook Express folder delete Old.dbx change the file name from Old.bak to Old.dbx
Also, if this does not help, try as a last resort use a special software.
If not important, paid or free software, I can advise this Recovery Toolbox for Outlook Express: http://www.outlookexpress.recoverytoolbox.com/
But before you start worrying try another search solution in this forum: http://www.filerepairforum.com/forum/microsoft/microsoft-aa/outlook-express/395-something-wrong-with-outlook-express-how-to-fix-it

We have outlook express. We can go online, send e-mails, but cannot receive e-mails. Only the first one comes in. case # 8032193741

If you can send but not receive then check your server names. In Outlook Express, click on Tools, Account Settings, highlight your account. Click "Change" to gain access to the settings. The Incoming and Outgoing server names are determined by your Internet Provider. Place the provided names in the fields, and restart Outlook Express.

Am tring to set up my email on my new note book in out look express but dont seem to be able to come up with the log on page so am not able to do any thing like send an email can use email on my hotmail...

Outlook Express needs you to have an email account with your ISP, and your ISP should provide you with the setup items like Mail Servers. Once this isw done, you will have complete access to your email.

As an example, my ISP is Comcast and my mail servers are

mail.comcast.net to receive, and
smtp.comcast.net to send.

Your ISP will have their own servers, of course.

You will need to log in to these servers, using logins and passwords provided by your ISP. Outlook Express manages this as well.

Try this settings:

Outlook Express
  1. Click Tools then Accounts

    • Type Account Name (which will be your full email address)

This should fix the Outlook Express to send email, close Outlook Express and re-open it to start sending mail.

Microsoft Outlook
  1. Click Tools then Email Accounts (Accounts and Services on older versions of Outlook)
  2. Click View and Change and Click Next (skip if it opens up to the account screen)
  3. Click Change or Properties of your Email Account
  4. Click More Settings
  5. Click Outgoing Server
